Tates Creek 9 Harrison County 1

Featured Replies

Final.

Harrison County will get tested again this weekend against Lexington Catholic, Bullitt East and Trinity.

Yes, Harrison County is a tiny field, but Logan Jackson of Tates Creek went 3-4 with 5 RBI's and 3 HRS. Having him back from injury looks like it will help out the creek a lot!!

Nice day for Logan. I'm not sure how long he has been out but Tates Creek has faired just fine lately. 14-4 overall with recent wins over PRP, Lexington Christian, Daviess County and Dunbar. Of course having Logan's bat in the lineup will improve any team.

I realize Harrison didn't pitch any of it's aces again, but if they don't start hitting the ball, 1 run won't win many ballgames. If the bats don't come alive the Breds faithful could be in for a very disappointing post season.

Does Harrison County ever pitch any of its aces?

They're far and away the class of the 10th Region (IMHO), but it seems like every time the Breds lose, there's some excuse like this.

Hopefully the weekend will be nice from a weather standpoint, and HC can show the Commonwealth what the 10th Region has to offer.:thumb:

Like I said, no matter how good their aces may be, if they don't start hitting the ball against decent pitching they won't win anyway. A perfect example is last year's 1-0, 9 inning loss to Lexington Catholic in the opening round of the State Tournament. Brandon Martin gave up only 1 unearned run in 9 innings and still lost. You have to be able to score runs to win games and thus far the 2009 edition of the Thorobreds is failing miserably when it comes to scoring runs against good competition. Hopefully they will get their bats off the bus or out of the dugout soon and start making some noise against good competition.
