Lexington Christian 4 Tates Creek 1
Central KY Baseball replied to The Engineer's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
When you only score one run I guess it doesn't matter much, but why didn't Trevor Gott pitch? -
Nice way to bounce back for Male. Congratulations.

Franklin County 13 Western Hills 0
Central KY Baseball replied to huntman138's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
I was shocked when I heard Riddle was not going to pitch. Is he not their ace? Regardless, I would have never expected a 13-0 beat down like this. Giving up ten runs in the first inning is hard to overcome. I figured this game would be much, much closer. When do they play again? -

Impressive win for Lexington Christian. I believe this is only Tates Creek second loss of the year. Who pitched for each school? -

Riddle isn't going to pitch?! -
Lexington Catholic 9 Trinity 2

You're absolutely right. My words were those of frustration. It's hard to see a team come out and not perform at the level they're capable of regardless of who they are playing. That's not just Lexington Catholic, that is any team, at any level. It is hard though to get yourself pumped up and motivated against obvious inferior teams. -

How does Lexington Catholic tie North Laurel and lose to Estill County, yet beat Apollo, Trinity, and Christian County? Who is Lexington Catholic's ace this year? Patrick Maronde? -

Told you not to be fooled by rankings. Not that they mean a whole lot in mid April, but Franklin County is now ranked 12th. Western Hills did move up to 7th. Should be a good game against two top 15 teams. -
1. Apollo 2. Pleasure Ridge Park 3. Lexington Catholic 4. Eastern 5. Tates Creek 6. Male 7. Western Hills 8. St. Xavier 9. Trinity 10. Bullitt East For the rest of the poll click the below link: http://www.khsbca.com/polls.php

Bullitt East 11 Southern 4
Central KY Baseball replied to mcpapa's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
Sounds like they bounced back nicely after losing to North Bullitt. Southern has a competitive team. -
I believe I heard there will be a new poll coming out tomorrow. As far as every Thursday, I'm not so sure.

Not sure if this is the type of stuff you're looking for but Mike Field's from the Lexington Herald-Leader has a blog. I have provided the link. http://fieldsnotes.bloginky.com/

Final per the scoreboard. Bryan Station wins their second district game in a row, after beating Scott County 11-3 last night and beating Henry Clay 5-3 tonight.

Western Hills 11 Frankfort 1

Sounds like it is a bad year for Frankfort to be down in their district. -
Western Hills vs Franklin County 4/16

Don't be so fooled by the rankings, MLB. Not taking anything away from Western Hills, they are a legit team, but Franklin County is also a top 15 team, IMO. Should be a great game against two very good high school teams. -
Undefeated Teams Left in the State
Central KY Baseball replied to Central KY Baseball's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
I figured Male would not make it out of the week undefeated. Out of all the undefeated teams they definitely have the hardest week with Eastern, Ballard and Henry Clay. Down to five teams. -
Estill County 5 Lexington Catholic 2

Unfortunately, that is what it looks like. -
Estill County 5 Lexington Catholic 2

From what I have seen and heard, that is a very good assessment. -
Estill County 5 Lexington Catholic 2
Central KY Baseball replied to Central KY Baseball's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
I'm not saying they are good because of their success last year. They have beaten three really good opponents this year, whom I listed in my previous post. I'll give you that I am assuming Estill County is good because of last year's success, I don't know much about them. But, given their success last year, and looking at their results this year, it appears they're probably a solid team. -

Central KY Baseball replied to Central KY Baseball's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
I'm pretty sure that there are a few more teams (maybe several) who are undefeated against Kentucky teams only, but I was referring to overall undefeated teams. What was Harrison County's record in 1997? -
Estill County 5 Lexington Catholic 2
Central KY Baseball replied to Central KY Baseball's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
Does that mean #1 Apollo isn't as good as everyone thinks? Or #10 West Jessamine and #18 Christian County... all teams Lexington Catholic has beaten. I'll stop myself. I didn't start the thread to debate how good Lexington Catholic is... I was just wondering details on the game. Who pitched for Estill County? Who pitched for Lexington Catholic? Did errors dictate the game? Etc... Estill County came out of their region last year as did Lexington Catholic. I'm pretty sure both teams are pretty good. I was just wondering specifics of the game. -

Congratulations. Do you have any details about the Estill County/Lexington Catholic game? -
North Bullitt 1 Bullitt East 0
Central KY Baseball replied to Ram's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
Who pitched for both teams? I guess it doesn't matter if Alphin or Bowles pitched for Bullitt East when you score 0 runs. Does North Bullitt have an ace that can do this to any team or was it just an off night at the plate for Bullitt East? -
Anderson County vs Shelby County
Central KY Baseball replied to baseball4life's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
Looks like Anderson is going to be the favorite to repeat as 8th region champs. Is this an accurate assumption? -
Western Hills 13 Woodford County 0
Central KY Baseball replied to huntman138's topic in KY Baseball (High School)
Who pitched for Western Hills? It appears Riddle or the Rawlings (right?) kid pitched according to the shut out. I guess whoever they pitched this game, the other will pitch Thursday against Franklin County.
