Put tied teams on the same line.

Harrison has yet to lose in Kentucky but keeps falling in the polls. Hopefully after playing Lawrence County and Greenup County this weekend we will be able to see how good of a team they may have this year.

Really the polls don't mean much anyway. However, with Dailey out until at least the first of May, Harrison is having to dig a little deeper into the pitching staff which will only make them more dangerous when Logan Dailey returns. This weekend will be a good test for the Breds as they face some good competition without their ace.

Dailey is a great contributer to the breds pitching staff but the breds have enough pitching to win baseball games against any team in the state. Know one is very over powering but they all throw strikes and hit there spots.

Dailey is the ace of the staff, not just a great contributor and was one of the Top 50 players selected statewide prior to the start of the season along with Jared Martin. I agree that Harrison has some good pitching but I don't think that are as good a team without their ace. Hopefully they will get to see some good competition this week and get a challenge. Afterwards, we'll know how good the overall pitching staff can be.

Okay, maybe because of his injury he hasn't been able to contribute enough to be considered the ace to date, but going in to the season he was undeniably tabbed as the ace. I love seeing them all do well, so I am not arguing who is the ace. I know that I talked with some of the players prior to the start of the season and all they talked about was how well Logan was throwing. He had several MPH on anyone else on the staff according to one of the pitchers I spoke with. Best of luck to all the Breds this weekend and for the rest of the season.

I still think they are ranked too low. We'll see how legit they are next week at the LIT against Lexington Christian, Apollo and St. Xavier in two days. Do they have the pitching to be competitive in all three of these games?

Do they have it? Hmm..at this point they have a very good pitcher in Isler, their ace, and a solid 2 in Nutini. Krumme is becoming a very good number 3.

 

The question is, will they use their top 2? They have a seeding game that following Monday, so I'd venture to say either Isler or Nutini will not be pitching next weekend, but I'm not sure because they may want to show what they are all about verse the best of the best.

If one pitches on the 24th they'll for sure be ready to throw a good 4 or 5 at the least by that Tuesday. I wouldn't worry about it but whoever throws on the 24th will be the guy on the hill for the seeding game.

It will be interesting for St. X as well. St. X next week has scheduled 6 games. On Monday, they play a vastly improved Desales (with a new head coach) who was 10-2 last Friday with win over #18 Ballard, a 15-12 loss to #10 Bullitt East, and giving a previously unbeaten CAL 2 losses. Wednesday, before the LIT, is an important district double header showdown against #6 Male. Then in the LIT, Thursday #13 Lexington Christian, Saturday #11 Covington Catholic and #1 Apollo. St. X is a young team--"young" in the sense that of the 8 position players they have been starting 2 sophomores (sometimes 3), a junior, and 5 seniors. Of those 5 seniors, only one was a regular starter last year. Hopefully, learning for the end of the season will help.
