I too have softened my stance on this position. Sometimes the numbers dictate it; other Seniors to be candid are all about the program but not talented enough on the same playing field. I have no problem seeing some JV action. I trust that coaches are not going to let it hurt development; but it should be about kids enjoying the game. Some seniors put a lot of time in never to see the field. I would be for it, under the right circumstances.

I am certain in watching film certain boys need to step up. To be honest I think they get dependent on a couple and forget their contributions. A chain is only as good as it’s weakest link. I know a few that didn’t come to play. With that said one missed tackle was a junior that has made a ton of plays for the birds. The botched snap was a junior that has been lights out and solidifies the line. The great thing with Coach is you can have a fantastic game on film and he shows you areas of improvement! Noon at times perhaps tried to do too much; however you can’t fault effort and that was there!

Class is coming along nicely. I think he can be special anywhere. I think Richter is suppose to be back this week; I assume we will learn more about Cam in the coming days. He sure will add an entire different dimension.

McNick played well and hard it was a good game. When you are good enough to play 2 safeties over the top, you have to work the middle and pound the ball and get a safety to walk down. I am sure coaches will see it and work it.

Tough loss. Again pick 6 hurt. A missed tackle resulted in another TD. I think I would run out Hinegardner to returns. RB is a big issue. Richter out, Geisler awaiting papers, Hosea comes out injured. Robinson and Dunn had to tote and our big contributors on defense and Kissee and LaFrange had ton of snaps both ways but they move people and had to have 20 tackles between them. Non district, work hard and learn. Hopefully some return from injuries.

That is my observation as well. They have a handful of senior leaders that are driven work hard and lead and are very coachable. This leads to juniors and sophomores that sees the day to day requirements and are even more talented which is a great scenario. Football acumen leading to wealth of riches. Folks I see the same thing happening. 1st year noice tomorrow’s dynasty. Let’s build this...

Those two position groups are much deeper than others. He runs different sets based on opponent and play setup. Just when I think this old coach has it figured out Bob or Hayden throws a new wrinkle. It is fun to watch. The kids buy in because he stresses roles and team. In years past superstars never came off the field. This year they get rested a series and the kids come in also desire to execute. It builds depth and team.

So much for the need of a scouting report. I hate injuries! I think you are going to see more from Mateo and Hinegardner. In order to run the ball i would expect to see more 2 TE sets. For those out to lunch LaFrange and Higgason played with their hand down as they played 4 down. I would expect that LaFrange and Hig will play inside and Surrey and Robinson out. Robinson can also play in. Hodge and Welsh add speed as well. Ask around the boys get a scorecard after each game.

Might have been me lol! I am a stronger believer now! I do believe this years Senior class has strong leaders and I was never worried about them. Those that lead has shown that on the field! For the email parent crap, you will not find a better two than those hired. My Son loves them and would reclassify 10 times to have an opportunity for more than 1 year! My take coaching staff adapts, makes changes and put the boys in position to win. Will there be teams with more talent you bet. I like the different looks and the play calling is light years better!!! Last night they had an opportunity to try and fix a few things. Are they there yet, No but if you follow the program you can read behind the lines. Good win, move forward get better. Lastly thank you to the community, ozone and fans from yesteryear! The stadium was rocking and it was electric. I know that is a great sign, we have got our Man!

Agreed. One game at a time! What I do like kids rep for another position if depth is low for various reasons the following week. Another nice change is that they scheme and plan for the next week. Whether that be gap responsibility, new formation or different scheme. 2 truths about HHS program currently. You will be about team with no me involved and 2 you will prep week to week. I will guarantee this the program will be back on top! Will it happen this year, they will give it their best. Kids and Coach Sphire mesh well. It will not be because of effort!

No criticism here! I absolutely believe Coach Sphire is a man of many seasons. I had a discussion with a SK grad who played at Grand Valley State during their top 10 D2 days and he said HHS play calling top notch. He was able to to discuss how sets set things up and you don’t see that from you high school coaches. I know where the program was, where it’s been and the vision moving forward. Sweep I have been around along time and I an smitten with what is ahead!

The good a cast of players that find a way to win. Noon did what I expected and Jake is not only lightning fast but can juke and then fly has added to his role and game. No words for the running game, it needs all kinds of work. I did like Robinson on the flip. Lloyd came up big early, welcome to the party the little train that could. Defense my oh my I know it was zone gap and different reads but make your tackles finish. It was a hit and fall off night. Trust me film is not going to be pleasant for you!!! DB play must get better. I had a bad angle but how many balls were caught on the backend on the end zone? Last thought stop resting boys in the third for the 4th quarter. Look at the mid 3rd quarter stat line it will haunt you. Congrats on another win! You need to continue to improve. For off-season buddy Chase great game kid, SK has to enjoy how you represent! Not sure about Special teams. I heard we had one but to my knowledge he is gone. Dill seem to be gathering unit. I know it was addressed by Coach. As too was not enamored with units play. We had a couple of boys added to unit this week do to injury. What was nice is that he has identified up to 3 punters and Mason did a good job in Brennan’s absence. Sphire will be on special teams play for sure.

I totally agree! 1st contain Chase SK QB with pressure. Not sure about his supporting cast but he can play. I always thought the birds defense could be special but it was nice to see the unit step up. The d-line had kids flying to the ball. I expect Dunn and LaFrange to be nasty and Robinson has always had a knack to make plays but welcome to the club Henry King and Isaac Surrey! Nobody would doubt either ones athletic ability! Man it was exiting to see them come to play! On offense the line held their own as that was an area of strength with BG. This week I would too like to see them sustain drives, establish some offense. Lastly I would remind them for the last 5 years Pioneers have taken it to the birds and was very boisterous about it. I would like to see a thumping. I will remind as will Sphire you are only as good as your last game. Let’s continue body of work one game at a time. What was exciting was the energy the fun and the all for one mentality!

Came back from BG and our defense did not let us down! Pursuit was unreal. Guess what the LB crew is for real. D-line rotation strong. I was very proud of the defensive unit! Benke did all that was asked of him. Mind you he is a good wideout too! Way to step up young man. Nice Moxie in that one. Noon and Cam will get that running game going. The defense was outstanding and the unit brought their lunch pails. Oline held their own against a very good front 3.
