  1. I am not sure. I haven't spoken with his parents in over a month, but these are the schools that were interested in him that I can remember (the ones that have contacted him) I don't know who has made offers... Purdue, Minnesota, EKU, Berea, Asbury, Trasy, Centre, Morehead, TN Martin, College of Charleston, etc...
  2. Watts was on Spurlin when MC needed to get a stop. However... Spurlin refused to be stopped last night.
  3. Fools gold is a figure of speech. Don't get your tows stepped on. I didn't mean anything by it.
  4. I am a little concerned that Garrard's early success was a bit of fools gold. All their big wins were at home. Can they get a win on the road in the district? If I were a Garrard Co. Fan I would be worried. They need to right the ship against Boyle Co. or this mid season flury could be in the tank.
  5. Senior... Offers from over a dozen schools. But he hasn't verbally committed to any of them.
  6. Wow! the 45th district just went strait up in the air!!!
  7. Lincoln's senior point guard Trevor Edgington had 15 to complement Spurlin's 32! & Junior center Dillan Allison chipped in with 11 Just getting home from the game. Spurlin may have just made a statement for player of the year in the 12th region. He defended Watts all night and played great all night.
  8. Prediction... LC 87 MC 86 in OT. :ohbrother:
  9. Isn't the head basketball coach also the AD down there?
  10. Right... His top schools that have sent him letters and called were Purdue and Minnesota. However, Middle Tennessee State and EKU have come to summer practices to watch him. He dominated the Eddie Ford team in AAU this summer. Then he comes back to LC and goes from being a stud to just a very nice NAIA player.
  11. I just know he has some D1 schools recruiting him. So if he were to play there he would have to be a shooting guard. That is what position he played when he was young. He just grew between his fresh & soph season. & I think he is a little better than people give him credit for. But that is just the way I see it. I think he needs to become more of a leader and compettitor. He lets the game come to him sometimes when he could take over. I will get my hat ready if he accepts a D1 offer. (wink)
  12. He plays inside some, but he is not a post player. He is a 2 guard in college (D1) or a 3 in a smaller school. Spurlin can shoot, pass, and is a good help defender. At six foot five he is a nice college prospect.
  13. You are exactly right, but it is tougher to coach talent sometimes... Kids with talent often don't want to put in the work that others are willing to.:thumb: Just think more people should consider that.
  14. Lets all agree to disagree. Jones was the best coach per the coaches vote prior to the post season. PERIOD. Then the post season came and the best coach with the best team made it to Rupp Arena for the state tournament... Jackson / Lincoln PERIOD. while Jones and the boys stayed home without being able to win a post season game in their district, while being the favorite, 2 years in a row. Great coaching.
  15. Does anyone really beleive that Watts isn't inspired to play at tournament time. I wittnessed The loss to Pulaski SW last season and Jones was out coached and his team was outplayed. They had the talent advantage by a ton. They never adjusted to SW's back door cuts and slow down Offence.
  16. Really... Lincolns only loss over the last season was to McCreary Central in the Region. I think McCreary dropped 4 or 5 regular season regional games.
  17. Politics asside, if you have Watts, you should be able to make it into the weak 12th region tournamnet for the last two years... Atleast last year. Lincoln has walked into Rupp Arena for the last two years in a row and McCreary can't get out of their weak district.
  18. Coach Jones from McCreary Central has been back to back 12 region coach of the year and he hasn't been able to even get runner up in the district. While Coach Jackson at Lincoln County has managed to win back to back 12th region titles and hasn't gotten a sniff of it. I say Garrard's coach deserves it as of 02-02-2009, but there is still a lot of season left. Lets see how the last 7-9 games go before we crown him.
  19. Yeah, but didn't Lincoln Beat Boyle 2 times in the regular season last year and in the Salt River Conference Finals?
  20. If they are good enough they should. The best players should play period.
  21. Does anyone know what Danville's Freshman Record is? And Lincoln's? I know Lincoln won the Salt River Conference last year as 8th graders and they went to the sweet 16 in the KBA state tournament.
  22. What team gave Boyle Co. Freshman team their only loss?
  23. Lincoln wins by 4 @ North Laurel in a great one. Upchurch led Lincoln w/18 pts. 41 to 37 was the final score
  24. 12th Region has a good young coach at Garrard Co. A former good coach in Bottoms at Boyle Co. He took them to the sweet 16 two times in only five years I think. Then Boyle booted him out. But the best coach in the 12th Region is Jeff Jackson at Lincoln Co. He took Lincoln to the Sweet 16 two years in a row, and his UHA team won the state tournament a few years ago.
