Trouble in Raider Land?

I have been hearing from numerous sources that Robert Jones at McCreary Central could be out after this season if a strong postseason run doesn't occur...

The past two seasons, McCreary has had gaudy records but failed to produce anything come tournament time. With the new superintendent entering his first FULL school year, things are looky iffy for Jones to be back. The super has a son playing ball at the varsity level and doesn't like the losing, and the player doesn't either.

McCreary has all of the talent in the world, and could be scary good with the right coach.. Guarantee it!

I seriously doubt this will ever happen because he has three things in his favor! Politics, Politics, Politics! :dancingpa

Politics aren't in his favor now with the new board members and super.

I heard this also. Watts is running the team and I hear lots of parents as well as the board members are not sitting well. I think regardless of the politics, this will be his last year, just because he has had so much talent and cannot get it done.

I personally never thought talant was the problem, you are right McCreary does have nice talant even in a bad year, and they can't seem to get over the hump. Sometimes it takes new blood to move to the next level.

No Way is Robert Jones goning anywhere, He could be the most powerful man in Mccreary co. The only person more powerful would be the Pope.:walk:

I don't think I would go that far. It wouldn't surprise me if he is in the hot seat, but I think he'll have another year to improve (unless they have a good post season). He'll not go anywhere until Watts graduates. Then things could change quickly.

That is not the word I have, His aunt is a new board member and I also heard he controls the other two new board members and one of the old board members is now supporting him. Sounds like he controls the politics to me! However, that is only my opinion. I don't know much about the basketball program and have only attended a couple of games this year because I have been working out of town a lot. Football is my sport but I don't think my son is going to play next year he said he want to get a job and buy a car. I hope he changes his mind! Good luck to the Raiders the rest of the year!:dancingpa

The pope? I didn't know McCreary County was such a Catholic hotbed!:sssh:

I'm not going to dispute that Rob is under the gun, but its hard to coach teenage kids that has alot of outside influence like peer pressure and parents that complain about my little johnny isn't getting playing time and the list goes on and on. But good luck Coach I hope everything works out the way you want it to.

With the talent he has had the last few years he has yet to produce in the post season. Someone needs to take the blame for not getting these kids to reach their potential. I hope he can get the Raiders up to par before tournament time and this won't be a topic for conversation. The talent is there Rob just needs to get the best out of his players. Go Raiders!!!!:thumb:

I dont think McCreary has as much overall "talent" as you seem to believe, but everyone has their own opinion.
