Like I have stated before, Lauren will do great things in college, on an off the court, and will be utlized the way that she should be. My daughter played with Lauren for a short time, and to this day has great respect for Lauren.

I acknowledge I have a bias where this is concerned, but i will be the first to say that Sydney Moss is a phenomenal talent and is deserving of POY. I will be the first to say congratulations if she wins it this year, but please do not sell Lauren Tibbs short because of the team she played on or that she is different kind of player with a different skill set. She was POY last year in N. KY as a junior. She scored 31 last year vs Boone and over all outplayed Moss in that game. Numerous coaches from the SEC, Big East and other major conferences think that Lauren has what it takes. She has done it every year facing double and triple teaming and playing the top teams in the ninth and tenth regions. I am not suggesting that Scott's schedule totally matches Boone's each year, but they have always played the top teams in the area and certainly has not loaded up their schedule with cupcakes. Lauren has led N. KY in scoring the last two years and could very well do it again this year. Numerous coaches have commented that if Scott had consistent guard play at the point and the two spot, there is no telling what kind of numbers Lauren would have put up. I am not suggesting that Lauren "deserves" it more than Syd, only that she has had a great career and is very deserving of strong consideration and the respect of N. KY basketball coaches and fans. Good luck to both girls" Well said Papa Bear. Anyone that knows Lauren at all knows what a class act she is on and off the court. And yes, guard play really does make a world of difference. Best of luck to Lauren in her college endeavors on and off the court.

"Inexperience...she's a freshman...not sure what she was thinking, maybe didn't know the score. She was right next to the Scott Bench...somebody should have been yelling to her to hold the ball or even a time out could have been called. Still,it should have never come down to that shot." Agree 100 percent, she is a freshman, and who knows what she was thinking. Lauren has done so much for the Scott Lady Eagles this year, had it not been for her for the most part, they would not have won some of the games that they did win.

I am not surprised by this score at all. I hate it for the senior girls of Scott, Lauren Tibbs and Taylor Jackson. I am sure this was not the way that those 2 girls wanted their seasons to end. Brossart did what they had to do to win the game.

I am going with Campbell to win this one by 5.

They have not progressed and found a way to improve or develop different offensive sets to address this." Yes this has not been a good year for the lady Eagles to say the least. But, I suspect that next year will be even worse. I hope I am wrong, I really do. But I seriously doubt it. Taylor Stinson is a good player, but like I have said before, she can't do it by herself. This year it was Taylor and Lauren. Next year - Taylor and ............... I do wish the Lady Eagles nothing but the best, and I hate it that I missed seeing them play on senior night. "True on all accounts. Trimpe was really developing and could have really helped them down the stretch ." I could not agree more with this statement. I have only seen her play a few times, but the times that she did play, she really impressed me. She has a bright future ahead of her. I would love to see her be a point guard. I think she would do very well in that position.

I don't want to stray from the thread title which is Boone Co. beating Scott very badly. I attended the game with my daughter to watch the Lady Eagles play. And I had always known that Coach Nell was a good coach, but she proved it to me even more at this game. She never ever once stopped coaching. She coached up until the last minute of the game. My daughter, who is now in college, looked over at me, and said "She is a really good coach". It's very unfortunate that the Scott guards could not handle the press, but I really can't blame Coach Fookes for that. She was just coaching her team. And, I know that I am not going to fault her for that.

"Jenna Trimpe an 8th grader started last night and has been working in more. She has a real confidence about her and I think her potential is high. " That's really great to hear. I have only seen her play one time, and she impressed me. With her getting experience as a point guard as an 8th grader at the varsity level can only lead to good things in the future for the Scott Lady Eages. Thanks for the update, Papabear.

'Congratulations to the Lady Eagles on a solid victory tonight over a good Bracken Co team. Lauren Tibbs led the way with 26 points and 27 rebounds. Jill Buntin added 15 points and Taylor Stinson was in double figures as well. Scott has struggled out of the gate so this was a much improved overall effort tonight. " Nice to see the Lady Eagles get a much needed win, it definitely looks like it was overall more of a team effort which is a good thing. Who is playing the point for the Lady Eagles.

"Scott needs improved guard play. " I could not agree more. Lauren is a very good player, but as I have stated before, she cannot do it alone, and they are definitely missing this year a true point guard. The game that I saw, the guards struggled to bring the ball down the court. I will say I was quite impressed with the 8th grader, I believe Trimpe is her name. I noticed in the box score she had 13 points. Hopefully this is a sign of good things to come in the future for the Lady Eagles.

The biggest problem I saw last night with Scott, is they really have no strong guard play this year. And, you have to have someone to bring the ball down who can handle the pressue. St. Henry took advantage of the weak guard play, and put alot of pressure on the guards who turned the ball over several times. There were a few times, that Lauren actually brought the ball down herself. If Scott can get the guard play under control, then they can have a decent year. As good as Lauren is and also Taylor Stinson, they can only do so much.

Congratulations Lauren. I know you will do great things at Marquette on and off the court.

When my daughter was in high school, she played 2 sports, basketball and soccer. And she did well in both sports. However, she made the decision in the spring time to play select soccer, on a very good select soccer team. There was a point for me as well, where I really wanted her to play just soccer. However, she loved both sports. And I know that she would have regretted not playing high school basketball. And she will always have those high school basketball memories to cherish.

I know that Brown is playing college basketball, is Ponzer as well? I have not seen anything on Ponzer.

I think that Scott can be competitive again this year. Of course, they have Lauren Tibbs in the middle, plus Taylor Stinson, Taylor Jackson, and Sam Kraft. The question for me is who will be the guards. IMO, that is their weakest position. I look for freshman Jill Buntin to be in the mix as well. I am not familiar with the incoming sophomore class or freshman class other than Jill. If they can get strong guard play, I see no reason why their record can't be as good as it was last year. I wish nothing but the best for the Lady Eagles, and look forward to attending some of their games again this year.

I saw this on the boys side, and I thought I would start a thread on the girls side. Any news on anyone playing college ball for next year.

Lauren Tibbs could not be stopped tonight. She was double/triple teamed the entire night and could not miss. Lauren Tibbs made 5 (I think) free throws in a row after a foul, technical, and intentional foul. This really changed the momentum of the game. I saw WKU and NKU at the game tonight. The team played very well together tonight. Taylor Stinson and Sam Kraft really stepped it up. Tomorrow's game will be much tougher, but if Tibbs is not stopped, then Scott may pull away with a victory.

I hate not picking my alma mater, Pendleton County, but I am going to go with Bracken by 2.
