Walton Verona 59 Scott 43

Nice bounce back game for Walton. Tibbs is a load. Congrats to Kelli Dixon she scored her 1500 career point during the game.

Congrats to Walton on a huge win. Hopefully this gives them the momentum to get the team turned around. Kara Taulbee and Katie Slavey had a big first half from behind the arc which really gave Walton some breathing room. Congrats to Kelli Dixon on her 1500pt. I was amazed at all of the accomplishments that she made over the last four years. When the announcer was reading them off it was a very long impressive list. Kelli has some very big shoes to fill next year and will be missed. I look forward to seeing her play at Thomas More College (who is ranked #1 nationally right now in D3).

When did Kelli decide on TMC. Great news and a great team. And Congrats on 1500 points, that's a boatload!

Anybody have a box score. Heard the Tibbs was held to 14 points. If so, Dixon and company must have done a great job.

Congrats to Kelli. She is quite a competitor.

They did do a good job, but it's pretty much the same issue Scott has dealt with all year. Little to no perimeter shooting threat allows teams to triple Tibbs and dare the Eagles to shoot outside. Also, they give away too many possessions because of poor guard play and not being able to handle the press. They had about 17 turnovers, which is actually better than normal. With even an average backcourt, the Eagles could challenge for a regional title.

How many days did Walton practice to prepare for this game?

You summed up this very frustrating season extremely well. Injuries to key players have not helped. They have not progressed and found a way to improve or develop different offensive sets to address this. I am amazed at the numbers that Tibbs (24ppg and 11.6 rpg) and Stinson (12 ppg and 7 rpg) have still been able to put up with the defenses they have seen and the number of lost possessions due to turnovers. (especially Tibbs' numbers)

Enough!!!

"You summed up this very frustrating season extremely well. Injuries to key players have not helped. But, I suspect that next year will be even worse. I hope I am wrong, I really do. But I seriously doubt it. Taylor Stinson is a good player, but like I have said before, she can't do it by herself. This year it was Taylor and Lauren. Next year - Taylor and ............... I do wish the Lady Eagles nothing but the best, and I hate it that I missed seeing them play on senior night. Good luck in the post season. Lady Eagles.

As far as next year, Tibbs is impossible to replace..she is a one of a kind player, one you'd be lucky to see at a school once every 20 years at best. That being said, Stinson is a solid post player, and will be one of the best in NKY next year. Jenna Trimpe will be back and a year more experienced, and will be that outside threat that they sorely needed this year. Beyond that, they will have some senior leadership with Stinson and Starnes being Senior starters, and likely will start maybe 1 jr and 2 sophomores. They will probably be able to go 8 or 9 deep, which should allow them to press more. I think they'll play pretty good defense. If the backcourt can develop, they may equal or even better this years record. There won't be as many forced passes into Tibbs, and offensive balance should be better.

Enough!!!

Maybe the guy that as a player won a region and as an assistant coach won a region knows what mix of rest and sharpness is needed this time of year.

Good point.

If you would have watched them play Saturday night, you would think otherwise.

So the coach has failed? She is the one to develop different offensive sets to address this, correct?
