Moss, Tibbs top girls all-star voting

Boone County junior forward Sydney Moss and Scott senior forward Lauren Tibbs were the top two vote-getters on the Division I girls’ basketball all-star team selected by Northern Kentucky coaches.

 

Going into the final week of the regular season, Tibbs was the area’s leading scorer with a 23.9 average, followed by Moss with a 22.5 average. They’re also two of the area’s leading rebounders with Moss averaging 11.6 and Tibbs averaging 11.3.

 

The top vote-getters on the other division all-star teams were St. Henry senior forward Abby Janszen in Division II and Beechwood senior forward Brianna McCarthy in Division III.

 

The Northern Kentucky Girls’ Basketball Coaches Association will announce the Player of the Year and Coach of the Year in each division at its post-season awards banquet on Sunday, March 20 at Triple Crown Country Club.

 

The winner of the Loyce Meadows Award for the top student-athlete in Northern Kentucky girls’ basketball will also be named at the banquet.

 

The coaches did release the Miss Hustle award-winners. Nicole Schowalter of Dayton and Morgan Rowland of Bellevue were co-winners in Division III. Chandler Clark of Notre Dame and Kelsey Dunn of Highlands were the Division I and II winners.

Not saying you are wrong but who would you have added. Dont need you to say who you would take off of it, but remember to add someone you have to remove someone

Stats don't always make you the best ball player. Alot more goes into winning than scoring. Playing defense and rebounding will win you more game than shooting the ball 20 times a game. Allstars are made in many different shapes, sizes and talents. Don't dismiss a girl because she isn't scoring 15-20 points a game. Give me a player who scores 10 points a game and plays D, and holds her opponent to one less point than her.

POY for D1 will be pretty interesting. It typically goes to a Senior, however, there's such a huge gap between Scott and Boone that I'm not sure "if" the success of the team comes into play when they vote. Not to mention the night & day schedules they have played.
