I am refering to Richmond more than the Region sorry. Elliott wins the region by an average score of 15+, alot of teams are having good years in the 16th Region but Elliott is on another level when it comes to playing their class A foes.

We can't count out Shelby Valley(I believe they are class A). That would be a matchup I would love too see. They will make it to Richmond with ease but will have to be on top of their game to take it all. Can't wait until Saturday when it all starts. Go Lions!!!

[ Chris Knipp seems to improve with each outing. I agree!:thumb: He is getting more confidence each game and is really becoming a great attribute. I noticed that John Morgan hasn't played much in the last 3 or 4 games; hard to believe because he is such a great role player anyone know why?

Finally the Lions showed a little bit of their old selves tonight. East has a great looking group of kids but just can't put it together I guess. Lions finally played with more emotion on the defensive side of the ball and hit the boards. Great win for the Lions. :banana:

I really couldn't believe the talent level that was on each side of the ball at quarterback. Made for one great unforgettable show!!!!!!

That is alot of good teams in that region that won't be able to compete at Rupp. Best region hands down!!!

Good point! But has the media and people put to much pressure on these kids to win it all. They are now under the microscope state wide and any thing less than a state tournament or great showing in Rupp is not satisfactory to most. I am very proud of these boys but they haven't made it to Rupp yet and have a lot of improvement is still needed to be state champions. It just seems to me that since they have achieved high success in recent months since the beach ball they haven't been the same team I have watched all these years. I could be the only one that sees it though; people do sometime tell me I am blind as a bat.

My question is does Elliott play better when they are the underdogg (Mason, Beach Ball classic etc.) or topdog (West, Anderson, Rose Hill, etc.)

Yes a win is defiantely a win; and win you are #1 according to some you get them anyway you can that's what good teams do. Just saying do they play better as the underdog?

East Carter is struggling and don't think this is a game to get back on track. Elliott by 17!!!!

He might not have another year to do what can be done this year (exposure wise). He has been on the varsity scene for three years now. He has the most talent I have seen in a long time; but hard work beats talent if talent doesn't work hard everytime. He is a young man with great abilities. I really wish him the best but the way he acts sometimes is only hurting himself and his team. He has a long way to go with high school sports; just hope he don't let it pass him bye with a lot of regrets.

That was a great high school football game. I kinda wish that SC would have won so that their would have been a SC-Lawrence County rematch. Earlier that year the cards beat the dogs at home. That was a really good Rock team that set the pace for the years to follow. SC had one of the best teams that they ever had that year and was a team that I thought would win that game; but you can never tell what will happen on any given night.

Yes he was! West played their best game all season and had all the makings for the upset, but Elliott pulled out a tough win. I think that this game was very good for Elliott because it will keep them on their toes in the region; you can't just show up and win. West made some big shot and shot the ball really well. It was a good win in a tough environment and floor conditions. Way to go lions on a hard fought win. :dancingpa

Lawrence County has to many so I will go with BULLDOG VANHOOSE.

There is something that isn't right about this picture. Never heard of a coach getting fired after one season especially after going to the Regional finals; this year wasn’t even close to being one of Pikeville’s best teams. Something must have gone on behind the scenes that we don't know about. Mike Copley from what I know of him is a standout guy that always would put the kids first and get them into the best physical and mental shape possible. Must have not kissed up to people enough? Really am baffled by this decision but there is a reason for everything.

It seems that is always the case. I think that the same situation happened with Chuke Williams; I know him well and got that impression during the time he was there. Bourbon has a potential to big a great football program (they did win a state title in the late 90's), but it seems that many outside forces won't allow that to happen. I'm just an outsider and don't really know the whole story.

I thought Elliott might have had a little fatigue left over from the Myrtle Beach trip. They didn't play their best ballgame but still want by 40 points so can't complain. Ferg was outstanding last tonight crashing the boards, hustling, and especially shooting. He didn't miss too many 3 point attempts; it was a great win for the Lions. :ylsuper::ylsuper:

There will always be doubters. They didn't watch the tournament because they played some of the best teams in the country. Saying that those teams would compete for any state championship in any state.
