What a difference a full year in the weight room has made for our team!! The boys have also matured and become more disciplined under Coach Copley. I am looking forward to a great season!

One more week until we get a sneak peek of the 2010 Musketeers in action. Lets Get Fired Up!! The Greenup County 2010 National Cheerleaders will be recognized during the half-time period. I hope everyone can come out for the game.

Finally a Greenup County thread. The boys are looking great for spring practice. Excellent numbers! The numbers they have put up in the weight room this winter have been awesome. With the addition of some new players we now have 20+ Seniors. The bulk of them having played together since their JFL days. Can't wait for next Friday Night!!!!

WOW I don't know where to start on this one... It is difficult to believe that there is still so much sexism in this world...or is it just Kentucky?

I know they had a huge Senior class last season. In addition to Kyle Smith and Cody Prichard who else will need to step up?

Both Ram and Braves1 make some very good points. I think Football would benefit with changes to how the Spring Practice window is handled. These things, in addition to working/coordinating with your school's other coaches, can create a better environment for everyone involved. Greenup will hold their practices later in the day to allow for other team's practice schedules.

And I am sure the boys will warm up real fast!! Greenup County will start this coming Thursday. The addition to the language allowing a school some discretion in scheduling Spring Practice sounds fine to me. I am just glad that it is finally here!

We did get the new lights last year about mid season. They are really nice!

Last night the Board approved a bid from Sports Turf. LLC for approx. 33 thousand dollars to replace the entire irrigation system and reseed the field with Bermuda grass. This work is scheduled to start sometime in March. The new bleachers, field house, etc. is still in the works. The board will send this out to be rebid in March and hope to start construction sometime in June. The new bonding ability will not be available until after July 1. I was told that they do not have to start the process completely over with the state, just resubmit the final bid. I will keep everyone posted.

Absolutely! Greenup County, for the first year in a long time, hasn't stopped lifting since Coach Copley arrived. The boys get a few breaks here and there, (one week after the season ended,) but for the most part they are ALWAYS lifting!!!

Ideally, I would love to see Greenup open up its' 2010 season with new facilites. Realistically, if the construction money is not in place then there are still alot of bureaucratic hoops to be jumped through before construction can start. I know final plans were shown to the Board but the State has to also approve. I thought the money for the new bleachers was already in place and a bid accepted. The Board should be able to tell us when this work is scheduled. The last I heard the School was taking over field maintenance and were going to replace the entire sprinkler system and reseed the field. There is a School Board meeting next Monday at 6 p.m. at the High School. Please make some calls or come to the meeting in support of Greenup Football.

Thanks for the update recpark. I knew they were waiting until spring to rebid out the fieldhouse and school construction but the bleacher money already exists and this should be moving along. I wish they had went for the turf from the beginning, also!!!:sssh:
