  1. To quote myself and add to this - another good example of what hedge funds do is Frisch's. The hedge fund bought the real estate. They could care less about the restaurants and we all saw what happened over time. And I will add - the new Frisch's that reopened in Ft. Wright Orphanage Road is killing it. That parking lot has been packed from open to close. I drove by the other night at 9:30 and the lot was still full. It wasn't a Frisch's problem. Not food quality. Not service. It was a hedge fund that wanted to drain every penny they could out of the real estate they bought.
  2. I am not so sure. The game plan won them the game. I don't think Fryman ran one long pass route until the big catch on the last drive. And that play won the game for them. I am sure there was a reason for that game plan. Bottom line - Tigers win so that makes it the right plan.
  3. This is what happens when hedge funds buy "assets". They only care about the money. They don't care about operations, services or anything else - only if they make more money. LHL is owned by a hedge fund.
  4. I think Somerset is a dangerous team. They gave Beechwood all they could handle in a pre-season scrimmage and won that scrimmage on the scoreboard. They could surprise some people at playoff time.
  5. The top challenger is Owensboro Catholic. They won't be able to stop the Beechwood offense but they may be able to outscore it. Their offense is right there with the Tigers. The Tigers will need to fix the holes in their defense that Cov Cath exposed last night.
  6. Two big plays for CCH. A 66 yard TD pass and a 80 yard TD run. There's 146 of the 212 yards right there.
  7. Gilliland is a really good player. Both sides of the ball. RB and LB.
  8. Impressive win for the Pioneers.
  9. I am guessing with that score, the game was stopped in the first half, maybe even first quarter? Tough to count that as an official game if that is correct.
  10. FOX 19 has video of the Fryman diving catch. It is a beauty of a catch.
  11. Didn't see it on any of the local sports shows. Channel 12 did have the unbelievable shovel toss by Courtney while being sacked on 4th down that Kirtley caught and took to the house to tie the game in the 4th quarter. Channel 5 showed a nice amount of Coach Rash's pregame speech. Good stuff.
  12. I think the Cov Cath fans were a bit stunned with how the game started and that put them on their heels all night. It's tough when you are playing from behind the whole game. Beechwood's fans really picked it up in the 4th quarter.
  13. Well said! IMO that was Emmett Queen's best game ever. Very impressive tonight! Nathan Pabst is just an unbelievable football player. He was the most impressive player on the field tonight. So many plays where CCH had the play defended very well and Pabst made multiple players miss tackles.
  14. It was very much a role reversal of what we see in the Beechwood Cov Cath game. Beechwood ran the ball and controlled the clock. Cov Cath made big plays to keep it close. It is usually the other way around.
  15. A new record set tonight by Covington Catholic: The fastest a scoreboard has ever been turned off at the end of the game. They did their best to make sure of no pictures of that scoreboard for Tigers fans.
  16. When Beechwood can have success at the LOS against CCH, they have a chance. Tigers offensive line is having some success. Beechwood needs to keep that first half game plan - run focused and short pass game. Colonels offensive line is providing great protection for Courtney. Eviston always wants to run the ball against Beechwood but I would go 75% pass, 25% run the second half if I were Eviston.
  17. Got it. Body slams after the whistle allowed.
  18. Paradigm shift. That history makes it even more important for the Cov Cath kids to beat Beechwood. They do not want to be on "one of those teams" that lost to the Tigers.
  19. I believe 2011. Beechwood HOF'er Cameron Vocke is #42. He went for more than 200 all purpose yards in that game.
  20. One of the most interesting threads on BGP in the past few months.
  21. From what I know, this year's CCH freshman team is not an indicator of St. Henry impacting CCH. This group has struggled at every level. They were winless as 8th graders last year.
  22. Beechwood has a solid freshman group, but that score says more about CCH than it does Beechwood.
  23. 2024 Tigers Every skill player on this 2026 team plus Flaherty at RB, Aylor at RB, Erdman at WR, Cusick at WR and the only difference is Hayden at QB instead of Queen.
