  1. I guess we just have difference of opinions. I just think it's a bit early to be saying without a doubt that one is going to beat the other. NCC is ranked 6th in the region and HC beat them. Anyways back to the thread it will be tough for HC to match up with Mason's height and athleticism but I think the game depends on one factor: Whether Holy Cross can make Mason play their type of game. If HC can keep the game in the 50's then they have a shot at winning, but if Mason scores more then that HC won't be able to hang with them.
  2. Why? What has Cov Cath done this year to prove they are already better then Holy Cross?
  3. Looking at the heights this is actually one of the 9th region teams that matches up well with Holmes.
  4. Speed is position. Position in football is every thing, you can have a 150 pound O tackle and a 300 pound D end and if the tackle gets low and good position, he makes the block for the second and a half or two seconds needed. Speed again and again.
  5. O, ok I misunderstood and I agree with you on that. Also, I think Holmes will have some tough games in the 9th.
  6. So you don't think Holy Cross or NCC will be able to compete with either Ryle or Boone?
  7. Great back and forth game early in the year with a pretty good atmosphere for a couple small schools. Both teams came to play. Hc didn't rebound all that well but when senior C/PF Mike Sullivan can get into the swing of things after a good senior season of football this HC team could be dangerous if they continue to play hard nosed defense and hustle.
  8. With that who do you think will come out on top?
  9. Speed... Especially on this level of football, If you have mediocre speed (4.6-4.9) your going to win alot of foot races to the end zone.
  10. I think he had maybe 5 or 7 points, never really found a groove just like the rest of the team.
  11. I'm not real sure maybe one forward?
  12. Hopefully and I think it was just first game jitters especially going into a game where your favored so much. I think they will come out more ready against NCC on saturday. On another note I thought Giwa played really well.
  13. I see that's going to hurt them, but watch for him to break out when he is back to 100%.
  14. I've been reading on here that it is on the 5th, but I'm almost positive that it is on the 6th. Anyways what are everyone's thoughts and predictions?
  15. Will Mason County have their two starters back yet?? And will Cov Cath's Mitch Shover be back to full health yet??
  16. I was there and I'm pretty sure it didn't go into doublt OT.:thumb: Overall both teams played hard, but both looked a bit sloppy IMO. Holmes only had 7 total players and HC only had 10. I know that HC was missing one player due to illness, but does anyone know why Holmes had only seben players? For the game it was back and forth the whole time with HC pulling it out in the end, but they almost shot themselves in the foot. They had the ball up by three with under a minute left and they tried to force a pass and it got stolen. Holmes then scored a two-pointer and was down by one. Holy Cross got the ball and instead of holding it again with around 20 seconds left they made an ill-advised pass again and turned it over. With 9 seconds left one of the Holmes players fired up a three pointer thinking time was running out and missed it. Holmes got the rebound and shot another shot with time running out and missed therefore ending the game. I think it ended up being HC-30 Holmes-29. A very entertaining game especially for the season opener and both teams didn't look bad for the first game of the year.
  17. That looks more like a college gym with how they have the weight room and everything else set up.
  18. Thanks for the information.
  19. I asked Strike3 and haven't received a response, but I'll try again thanks.
  20. Who started for Cooper tonight? What grades are they?
  21. So he has transferred mid-year or he is transferring after this year?
  22. I would think having the younger coach come in this team will be very scrappy as they will have to be in order to compete due to lack of experience. I think Sullivan was the perfect choice to start a new program. Does anyone know who will be starting or at least playing some and what years they are, etc....?
  23. Why does Holy Cross not have a preview under it?
  24. We'll all have a better view of Cooper after their game against Walton.
