lol the NBA three's were the best. At that point I knew we were desperate and in panic mode.

It's fine, it just felt weird being thought of as a guy. lol

I saw you AL. And I agree with all of the above.

Highlands is the better team, I don't think I said they weren't. They just are not 16 points better. CovCath imploded, which they've been known to do in the third and fourth quarters. The guard play just went down hill.

I am not a him. And I am not biased towards either Holmes OR Elliot County like most of you posting in here are. I think the way that a couple of people bicker back and forth in EVERY SINGLE THREAD related to each team are making their respective teams look bad. They are both great ball teams. But right now the edge SHOULD be given to Holmes, because Elliot Co. needs to play some of the top notch programs in state to claim to be the one to beat here. And yes, I'm from SC. I played ball there, and coached as well. Basketball is not a strong sport. Baseball, YES. Football, YUP. Basketball, no lol. My High school had 3000+ people and we fielded a pathetic version of a basketball team, because it just isn't a focused sport. Some of the AAU programs are good, but the high school programs not so much. So while it is great to beat a defending state champ in ANY state, SC isn't one of the strongest ones to throw around for bragging rights.

The margin had more to do with CovCath imploding then Highlands being 16 points better. Highlands is a good ball team, but CovCath was in this and basically handed it away.

It's always the same few people fighting over Elliot Co. and Holmes. It doesn't matter how long ya'll fight, or how much ya'll think you're right and the other one is wrong, until the two play each other there isn't much you can do. Both Elliot Co and Holmes are too good of ball teams to have their fans look like this..give it a rest please. As for the rankings, if they don't matter stop arguing over them. I've said before, South Carolina basketball is weak. VERY weak. [i'm from there, I know]. The Cedar Hill team, I know nothing about so I won't comment on that. Elliot Co. needs to play some top notch KY teams before they can be the number one team to beat.

I don't remember too many good feeds. I'm a Maschinot fan, lol don't get me wrong. Tonight wasn't his night. He did not play well. He needs to learn that passing on the JV level is totally different at the varsity level. Those one handed push passes don't work, and when you do a pass it has to have something on it.

I wouldn't mind it at this point. If Pauly is going to be out, it may be worth giving him a shot at some point. I don't know if Beechwood is the best game to experiment with that, probably need to go with a more experienced lineup and just understand we'll be short on guards and Maile might have to play as one, but Cooper why not. Maschinot got his shot, I see no problem with Reidinger getting his.

lol, I was impressed with Highlands bench/coach. They did not let the student section affect them. Also saw Holmes come in. We are in agreement, I think everyone in the 9th knows they are special this year..

I really like Reidinger. Number 21. If he grows some, he will be a good ball player at the varsity level in the next two years.

Not sure at what point the game broke away but CovCath came within five and then imploded. Once this happened they returned to their panic offense, and had some terrible shot selection. I saw long range NBA style threes tonight..bad. They did a nice job feeding the ball inside to Isler and Thelen, but they had a couple of shots just not fall. Still good effort as Isler had 5 pts and 6 rebounds and is still sick [obviously, as he was in and out of the restroom the whole game] and Thelen had 6 points and nice moves, the shots just didn't always fall for him. Wellbrock had 8 rebounds and had some solid blocks on defense, which is great, but really needs to become more productive on the offensive end. This team is in bad need of a PG. Maschinot isn't ready for varsity level quite yet. He'll get there, but right now it just isn't there. Solid 16 pts by Maile. The sickness bug needs to move on from CovCath quick. By Friday would be nice.. Grote and Kowolenek had big games for Highlands. I agree with someone who said Kowolenek had a quiet 26 points if that is possible. I felt the same about him the first time around too. He comes from out of nowhere I suppose. Good ball player. The big guy Grubbs just kind of seemed like a big body to me...and if you try to drive or get it inside on him, he'll foul very easily. Overall still a good Highlands team that I saw the first time around.

Covington Catholic vs. Highlands (01/05)
I don't know who will win. My heart says CovCath, my head says Highlands. I do think it will be a much better game than the first time around.

Mason County vs. Campbell County predictions
Mason Co. should take this one. Have seen both play, but Mason Co. seems to be a much better ball team. I'll take them by 10+.

lol oh geez, just tell me your opinion. I mean based on every other game I've seen I'd say it would be that the ball didn't get fed inside too much. But I don't know? The other thing is, Wellbrock usually posts up pretty well, but Thelen spends a lot of time kind of roaming, and his post up is soft..he doesn't put much butt into it or strength, so getting the ball down low may be more difficult in that situation, otherwise I'd say itd be more the guards not feeding it.

I was not at the game, but Thelen with 10 boards is very impressive. I still think him, Wellbrock and Isler in together is a strong lineup. Now it would have been nice to see Wellbrock and Thelen get more than 4 pts each though I dont know if thats due to no one throwing it in, or just missed opportunities. Either way, this one is behind them..Highlands and Beechwood this week, so hopefully they get healthy and bring it.

Yeah his delivery to the plate was very quick.

NKY Top 10
CCH has improved since their sophmore season. And it's not much of a question that they are the team to beat this year. I do not think his location is what got them, as he put the ball where many other pitchers have put it and CCH had no problem with hitting. His motion [sidearm] threw them off, and I heard this from two reliable sources [kids who batted against him in that game].

Agreed. Jake has been seeing quality minutes, and is usually in there with Isler or Wellbrock to compliment him. He has progressed as the season has gone on, as at the beginning I was not very impressed. But he is doing fine now, and in the next two years will be pretty good for CCH. Needs to get stronger, and hold on to rebounds, he is just a little too soft at this point, but beyond that he is looking good.

Well, we'll agree to disagree. Their small lineup has looked pathetic, so trying something new is fine by me, and it has worked pretty well. They still are not going to be a dominant team in NKY, but it's much better than what they were at the beginning of this year.
