KHSAA Gridiron Bowl - Championship Game DVDs
Does anyone know if the KHSAA is going to make this year's championship games available for purchase on DVD? I've been combing the KHSAA site periodically for the past few weeks, but can only surface information on an audio only mp3 file available on CD of the Rawlings radio broadcast. http://www.khsaa.tv/content/index.cfm?fuseaction=view&itemid=17&Org=KHSAA I have purchased the game DVDs in previous year's games with the Audio and the Video included... just checking to see if anyone knows if DVDs will be made available this year or not?

1A Final: Lexington Christian Academy 55 Mayfield 19
That's why we don't let Bluto do the STATS. I think what Bluto meant to say was Hazard spent 4 hours total on the road traveling that Friday evening, 2 hours each way. We made that trip last year... and coming back felt like 8 hours after the loss. :ohbrother:

1A Final: Lexington Christian Academy 55 Mayfield 19
http://www.kyprepspace.com/ This replay will be available around 6:00am CST on Sunday. Thanks for all the post season support RAM fans! The "salve' was spilled in the locker room before the game started and Branden Burdette slipped and fell in it and got it all over everything. He was a human highlight reel tonight on both sides of the ball... must have been the "salve"... it appears that it was from the Orange Krypto tube. Doc, send us a bill, we'll be more than happy to fund your restock needs! The LCA "D" peaked at the right time this season... I've never seem them more prepared for a team than for this game. My hat is off to Coach Graham and Coach Browning for an AMAZING job!

2009 KHSAA Commonwealth Bowl Home Teams
http://www.khsaa.org/handbook/tournamentrules/fbtournamentrules.pdf Check out SECTION II In summary, in the first round and second rounds, the highest seeded team will host as HOME team (so it's important to win your district!). In the third round, same rule applies... but if both #1 district teams make it to the Regional Game, then the tie breaker is the ODD Region will host in ODD years (i.e. 2009), and EVEN Region in EVEN years. So it will alternate. In the fourth round, it's Region based ODD/EVEN on the year, regardless of seeding. So if a 4th seed were to win it's region, and then be matched up against a 1st seed... the 1st seed doesn't necessarily get to host... only if their region is ODD in odd years... or EVEN in even years. And the 5th round is where ever the KHSAA designates the games to be played (Bowling Green this year and next). I'm not sure how the HOME team is designated for the CHAMPIONSHIP games (i.e. who wears WHITE and who wears DARK?)

***WARNING*** This video contains graphic content and potentially ear damaging audio. We have taken every precaution known to man-kind to clean this up... It has been digitally enhanced, the togo has been removed using state-of-the-art video techniques, we've prettied up Bluto's profile (he's got a face only a Mom could love)... but perfect for broadcast radio! This file is a little on the large side (50Mb), so give it a minute to load... http://www.LCASports.org/football/bluto_rides_again.wmv Our hat's off to the Raceland fan base, and the leader of that pack "Old Rambler"! You guys win that game hands down! We'll happily settle for the 2nd spot for "greatest fan" in LCA's own Bluto! Thanks Bluto!

Does your team change it's routines during the playoffs?

Does your team change it's routines during the playoffs?
I'm curious what adjustments to the regular routine teams might make for preparation each week as their teams advance further in the playoffs? Things that you don't normally do during the regular season? I'm guessing that the teams still playing the week of Thanksgiving every year must have some wisdom to pass along to the rest of us? Some of the things I've seen our team do that seem to make a difference are: 1) Filming one practice during the week with a pizza viewing party following the practice 2) Senior players running the final game preparation scout film sessions late in the week 3) Moving practice to a similar venue for the upcoming game field conditions (i.e. turf versus grass) 4) Pep Rallies

Frankfort Hosts Brossart
Just wanted to throw my two cents in... we've been working with Frankfort each and every season for the past 4 years (during my involvement with our team). And I must say Frankfort has been a class act across the board. That goes for the coaching staff, players, and the parents I've interacted with. Unfortunately, it would be a shame for a few handful of fans (Frankfort and Brossart) to set the tone for both programs/schools. I hope the events of past Friday evening are an exception, and certainly not the norm I've seen from Frankfort. I will also say across the board for the most part, the visitor seats where ever we play are not on par with the home field seats (in my High School sports experience). However, our fans have always been welcome in the home field stands everywhere we've played without exception. If there is a safety concern with the Frankfort visitor bleachers, that can and should certainly be pointed out to an official at the school so that it can be properly addressed and remedied. As far as "quality-of-view" from a visitors side perspective, I've seen a whole lot worse over the years than Frankfort.

Sigh... It must be Friday again... so says the Weatherman
I'm guessing somewhere after 8pm... I'll take the hit for this... I washed my cars yesterday... Knew I shouldn't have done that! :ohbrother: Note that these is a 20 degree drop in temperature on the other side of this stuff.

Class A Region 3 Playoff Bracket
- Bluegrasspreps.com 1A Rankings (October 20th)
In 2008... LCA whipped Hazard during the regular season. When they met again in the 2008 playoffs, Hazard put that loss behind them and turned the table on LCA. Likewise, in 2007 the same thing happened between these two teams with LCA losing the regular season game, and then winning against Hazard in the playoffs. So while it's fun to speculate and play what ifs with who beat who and who could beat who... it's all pretty meaningless until that game is a reality and has been played. Because "anything" can happen in High School football. That's why we love this game! I'm reminded of a song that kind makes this rationalization point if you take it far enough: I'm my own Grandpa Oh, many, many years ago When I was twenty-three I was married to a widow Who was pretty as can be This widow had a grown-up daughter Who had hair of red My father fell in love with her And soon the two were wed This made my dad my son-in-law And changed my very life For my daughter was my mother 'Cause she was my father's wife To complicate the matter Though it really brought me joy I soon became the father Of a bouncing baby boy This little baby then became A brother-in-law to Dad And so became my uncle Though it made me very sad For if he was my uncle Then that also made him brother Of the widow's grown-up daughter Who of course is my step-mother Chorus I'm my own grandpa I'm my own grandpa It sounds funny I know But it really is so Oh, I'm my own grandpa My father's wife then had a son Who kept them on the run And he became my grandchild For he was my daughter's son My wife is now my mother's mother And it makes me blue Because although she is my wife She's my grandmother too Now if my wife is my grandmother Then I'm her grandchild And every time I think of it It nearly drives me wild For now I have become The strangest case you ever saw As husband of my grandma I am my own grandpa- States Top Teams - week 9 edition
I heard on my radio that it was his ankle... in either case, sounds like he'll be out.- Class A Region 3 Playoff Picture
If Fairview defeats LCA next week at Fairview, then there would be a 3-way tie for first place in D5 with Raceland, Fairview, and LCA all at 3-1. In head-to-head play, Raceland would have beaten Fairview, LCA would have beaten Raceland, and Fairview "would have" beaten LCA. So what's the tie breaker in this situation?- Lexington Christian Academy 40 Raceland 0

Yes. A link to WJMM 99.1 FM on http://www.LCASports.org/football will provide you a streaming link (locate the microphone on the page). If you google search for WJMM, you WON'T find it, the streaming link is at the parent radio site CKCRadio.com. Streaming of the game will start shortly before kickoff. So don't fret if you hear the standard WJMM programming if you tune in a little early. And one more nugget of wisdom... the streaming works better with the Microsoft Internet Explorer browser (not so well with Firefox).- Raceland/Lexington Christian Academy Predictions
Hmmm... Four F-15 Eagles from the national guard! Now that's an idea... We might have to see what we can do there!- Raceland/Lexington Christian Academy Predictions
We have to ship Bluto out-of-town for our home games. He scares the small children... and he still frightens some of the younger players. Maybe we can have him reinstated in the post season if we're fortunate to rematch and have him kick off the game with the Star Spangled Banner... your place or ours! Of coarse it will be great! It's a RAM thing! You won't need any assistance from Captain Obvious to find it either! :sssh:- Field Conditions?
Last weeks games were canceled based on forecasted/potential weather conditions, not due to soggy "field" conditions. Although it didn't hurt to let the fields drain and dry out for a few more hours. As soon as the games were postponed, the rain stopped... go figure. But there were high winds in the area and a tornado was seen south of Lexington on Friday evening. So I think in hindsight it was better to error on the side of safety when making a call like that. http://www.whas11.com/topstories/stories/whas11-topstories-091012-tornado-video.20eafa5ad.html - Bluegrasspreps.com 1A Rankings (October 20th)
