  2. http://www.khsaa.tv/index.cfm?Org=KHSAA&CFID=13428453&CFTOKEN=81503487 I know that last year... Insight provided every game on DVD after they had aired the games delayed on their cable network... Rawlings also provided an audio replay of the games (I'm assuming these were also available LIVE... but I'm not sure about that... because I was at the games last year...)... But the audio replays of all 6 Championship games were certainly available post game at some point. I've not used the KHSAA Broadcasting Network yet to "source" any of our Sports content to date... but it certainly looks like something our school should investigate... and if this really works well, there shouldn't be a reason for any school to not be able to broadcast any of their events if desired. We streamed some of our football games using our own server this year as a test (very limited bandwidth)... and once the word got out... the server was always saturated with Grandma and Grandpa and graduated players outside our radio network coverage listening on Friday nights.
  3. Bluto... what's your verdict? Were there any rented mules harmed during your trip? I have a couple of related stories to pass on... The son of an LCA coach who played D1 college ball came to the game because his dad said the environment would be like none other he would ever see... and indeed it was... on the way home he asked his son what he was most impressed with... and he replied... "that's one of the best polish sausages I've ever had in my life!" The door key to LCA locker room was given to one of the assistant coaches to manage to let the team in the locker room at halftime... on the way down from the coaching booth up top to the locker room... the coach was distracted when he saw that the Raceland concession had funnel cakes... so he jumped right into line while the entire LCA football team stood outside the locker room waiting for the key... Coach Rains sent a posse looking for him and they nabbed him before he could partake... I think he's still out on the practice field bear crawling... :walk:
  4. Both Pikeville and Hazard are #1 seeds in Region-4. So regardless of who wins that game... they will host the winner of the Region-3 Raceland/LCA matchup... The KHSAA tournament rules state that the even region will host in even years (2008)... and the odd region will host in odd years... See section II-5 in this link: http://www.khsaa.org/handbook/tournamentrules/fbtournamentrules.pdf
  5. My guess would be that we'll see some of that old fashioned pole-cat... it's about that time of the year... it certainly worked magically last year... it's a shame to spend so much time practicing that and all the other trickeration plays and not use them in a game... but the opportunity hasn't presented itself yet so far this season...
  6. Yes... that is correct... the winner of LynnCamp/LCA will play the winner of Williamsburg/Paris. And the even Region/District #1 seed teams (Frankfort-R2D4 and Pikeville-R4D8) will be able to play every game at home leading up to the championship game at Papa Johns.
  7. Paired districts are cross-bracketed this year... in 2008 the pairs are D1-D2, D3-D4, D5-D6, and D7-D8... The highest district seeds from regular season will host the game at home... in the case where two of the same seed levels play each other (i.e. a #1 seed plays a #1 seed... then the even numbered district will host at home in 2008 since it is an even year... same thing applies for semi-state for regions if same seed levels play each other... the even region will host in 2008) With this arrangement... you won't play familiar teams from your district in the first round... it's possible to meet a district team in the second round... and possible for the #1 and #2 seeds from a given district to meet in the regional game. This is how it will work for classes 1A-5A... 6A will follow this for the first three rounds... then use a blind random draw for the remainder of the tournament.
  8. Based on current BGP top ten rankings, it looks like Regions 1 and 4 are the easier roads in comparison to Regions 2 and 3. With Region 3 containing four of the current top ten ranked teams. Is there a cinderella seeded out there? (I've bolded and added the current top ten ranking to the teams listed in the original brackets). ====================================== Region 1 (4) Kentucky Country Day at (1) Crittenden County-9 (3) Bethlehem at (2) Mayfield (2) Caverna vs. (3) Ballard Memorial (1) Holy Cross-6 vs. (4) Fulton City Region 2 (4) Trimble County at (1) Beechwood-1 (3) Gallatin County at (2) Bellevue-7 (2) Eminence vs. (3) Ludlow (1) Frankfort-4 vs. (4) Dayton Region 3 (4) Clinton County at (1) Raceland-2 (3) Lynn Camp at (2) Lexington Christian-3 (2) Campbellsville vs. (3) Fairview-8 (1) Williamsburg-10 vs. (4) Paris Region 4 (4) Betsy Layne at (1) Hazard-5 (3) Allen Central at (2) Harlan (2) Paintsville vs. (3) Pineville (1) Pikeville vs. (4) Jenkins
  9. Here's a photo post game... #30 appears to be in quite a bit of agony ... it appears from the field conditions, and a considerable lead in the game... #30 took the second half off... with a bye week and two weeks to heal... LCA should be in good shape injury wise...
  10. As a Internet streaming testing exercise... LCA is streaming the game from their website for a couple of hours this SAT morning only... there are 2 video feeds... and 20 audio feeds available... http://LCASports.org/football/
  11. Walter and Hume are probably out for the season... Witt and #28 from Breathitt Co. hit head on with both moving at a pretty high rate of speed... with #28 at 6-4 and 220lbs and #7 at 6-1 175lbs... #7 took the brunt of the collision... here's the play:
  12. #54 Andrew Walter (Jr.) - knee injury #85 Bob Hume (Sr.) - knee injury #7 Lucas Witt (Jr.) - out for 2nd half of Breathitt Co. game last week due to concussion on final drive of the 1st half... should be playing Friday versus Fairview
  13. Thank You Gentlemen! The extra effort is appreciated! Thanks for doing the "right" thing! Go Rams! Go Eagles!
  14. Just wanted to note that the only "read" on the play I intended was whether LCA could appeal and allow #18 to play next week... Raceland won the game... the best defensive team prevailed Friday evening... my hats off to the Rams! Two WELL played games in a row against LCA.
  15. I'd have to agree... It's interesting that the official 3 feet from the play didn't throw a flag... But, here's the play... You make the call... http://www.LCASports.org/football/video/raceland_lca_ejection.wmv
  16. http://www.LCASports.org/football/video/dominique_hayden.wmv This video clip shows about 15 of Hayden's 300+ yards against Lloyd
