Dominique Hayden has a slightly sprained ankle (per coach Rains). He first sprained it last week against Breathitt Co.

 

Coach Rains said that Hayden could have played the 2nd half, but decided to protect him for Hazard and the playoff run.

As I thought. LCA wins big over Fairview. Someone said LCA could not stop the Fairview running game. I think that was put to bed. Not even in the same league.

Fairview has had some nice teams over the last few years, but they aren't in the same league at LCA this year. I can't envision a situation where LCA and Raceland don't play in the regional final (sorry Williamsburg).

Congratulations to LCA, and hats off to Fairview for a hard fought game. Great sportsmanship on both sides. I saw A LOT of oppossing players helping the other team's players up after plays.

 

LCA controlled the line of scrimmage last night. That's where the game was decided. It's really good to see Josh Ballard playing at full strength after being out for the first half of the season. LCA had some great receptions, but also a lot of dropped passes (right in their hands).

 

Lucas Witt had 233 yards passing, but was under 50% in completions. One thing I liked to see is that he would throw the ball away as the situation dictated, thus avoiding sacks that he might have taken last year. Considering that Witt suffered a concussion last week against Breathitt, it was a very good performance.

 

Drew Walls had his 4th or 5th interception.

 

Fairview has some excellent players. #9 took an incredible shot from Meehan (6'4", 240), and came back to play hard - tough kid. Shelton & Cobb were great runners. Keep your heads up, Fairview Eagles.

Here's a photo post game... #30 appears to be in quite a bit of agony ... it appears from the field conditions, and a considerable lead in the game... #30 took the second half off... with a bye week and two weeks to heal... LCA should be in good shape injury wise...
