Does your team change it's routines during the playoffs?

Featured Replies

I'm curious what adjustments to the regular routine teams might make for preparation each week as their teams advance further in the playoffs? Things that you don't normally do during the regular season? I'm guessing that the teams still playing the week of Thanksgiving every year must have some wisdom to pass along to the rest of us? Some of the things I've seen our team do that seem to make a difference are:

1) Filming one practice during the week with a pizza viewing party following the practice

2) Senior players running the final game preparation scout film sessions late in the week

3) Moving practice to a similar venue for the upcoming game field conditions (i.e. turf versus grass)

4) Pep Rallies

I think your team should just take next week off. I think that would help a lot. Run it by the coaching staff and let us know.:D

But, I have found it is normally better for our team to try to keep everything the same as it has been for the whole season.

Coach says we can take the second week off in December. :isurrender:

At Beechwood, the football parents host a dinner each week of playoffs on Thursday. We usually have a combination of donated food items, and then home cooked and serve a nice meal after practice. On Thanksgiving morning, we have coffee, juice, and doughnuts for the parents as we all gather to watch practice. You know you've had a good year when your Thanksgiving plans revolve around the football team!!!

GO TIGERS!!!
