  1. I think they said it was for Holmes shooting the ball into the HC basket while play was stopped. Not sure, though.
  2. HC missing 3 of 4 Ft's with play stopped is huge if you want any chance of upsetting a superior team.
  3. If Rogers is back near form, GRC is my favorite. They are a disciplined team that battled adversity and that usually pays off in tight tourney games. 10th region tourney should be a war once it gets down to Scott, GRC and Mason. Draw will be pretty important.
  4. That's funny. I guess records are meant to be broken. Cooper's record will last for 2 days. Congrats to Cooper on getting a tourney win.
  5. Congrats to Nick. I'd imagine we will see a much-improved Newport squad in 2009. Best wishes to him and the Cats.
  6. On behalf of Eta Rho, I would like to mention that Holmes has 6 better athletes than Maile.
  7. Picking Brossart for no other reason than it's hard to beat a decent team 3 times in one season. Good luck to both teams.
  8. Boone is determined to win this year after disappointments the past few seasons. The Rebs are playing at a top 10 level in KY right now IMO. So, I'm not going out on a limb to say Boone as 33rd champion. It will be a cakewalk to the finals for the Rebs by dispatching Cooper or Heritage in the semis. Then, they get the Ryle-Conner winner in the finals. If history repeats itself, Conner will upset Ryle, who has smashed them twice this year. I'll go against history and say Ryle by 4 over Conner. But, noone will be surprised if the Cougars prevail and continue their pattern of losing regular seasons and a little bit of success in the playoffs. Then, Boone by 12 over Ryle in the championship. No need to project a score in the Boone vs Cooper/Heritage contest.
  9. Close game with Ryle pulling it out. Seems like Conner is on a slide due to injuries.
  10. Your comment is nice and indeed the Rebs have played great ball lately and will continue to do so IMO. Should be exciting. I would imagine there is a pretty good team down in Covington that would like a rematch. Will it happen? You never know in sports. Should be fun.
  11. Another solid game. The fine season continues in Florence. But, it's 0-0 now with a nice break in the first round of the district. It's important to win district and I do not see that being a problem with the disappointments of the last 2 years. One game at a time. Congrats to the Rebels and good luck in the tourney.
  12. WOW. What a game. Based on the storming the court comment, I assume it was Senior Night at Ballard. Gutsy performance by GRC on the road. I really like their coach and the way their kids have handled all of the adversity this year. Best of luck to both teams in the playoffs.
  13. I think the Lions are mentally tough and will not let the pressure of this true must-win game alter their intensity or performance. They will figure out a way to win even if the 3balls are not falling. If it's a blowout, one thing for sure, it will be a good night for the Lions. If a huge upset were to occur, it would be on a last-second shot IMHO. Good luck to both teams.
  14. Final. Congrats to New Cath. Sounds like it was a good one in Hebron.
  15. Very, very surprised by this game. How many dunks for Holmes?
  16. Congrats to HC. I would think this was one of their better games of the year. Couldn't come at a better time. Good luck vs. Holmes. Good luck to SH in their district play.
  17. Ouch. Sounds like another painful game of slow down ball by two teams whose coaches just don't get it. Sure - stress good defense but let the kids play on offense. Congrats to the Camels as it seemed like the Raiders were playing pretty good.
  18. Eta Rho predicted this. Maybe he should take off the :sssh:. Seriously, I will continue to pick Boone in an upset. I like the way the Rebels are playing. Should be a great tourney. Forget about the regular season as of right now.
