Congrats to the Birds. Not an easy game for regional survival.

Stauffer really fights and moves well without the ball. Ryle played well with him in the game and seemed to struggle when he was out of the lineup.

Congrats to Brossart and best wishes to Campbell seniors. Hard to beat a decent team 3 times in one season.

I would think that colleges would start to give him a look if he can handle the ball. Ryle was having to guard him with some big guys all night and he was on fire big time.

Hadn't thought about that but good analogy. I don't know if he drains them like that all the time but he was incredible tonight. Still can't believe Conner lost that game after leading probably 30 minutes.

Seems like Conner was still up 7 very late (3 minutes left) but I'm not sure. Missed FT's were Conner's downfall. Ryle was as bad or worse. Perhaps the most exciting finish of any game I've seen this year.

Final game is Boone vs. Ryle Friday nite at 7 at Boone. Conner gets to start football next week as their boys and girls teams both lost tough games to Ryle. This was a fun game to watch and Conner had the game in the bag. Incredible finish with lots of agony. Coach Hicks did a great job of continuing a valid yet pointless argument since you can't put time back on in h.s. - no TV monitors. Froze the heck out of Ryle's shooter by all of the ranting and then a TO. Conner's Avery was brilliant from 3-point land - not sure he missed more than 1-2 all night and must have canned 6. Sweet stroke.

I just have chills reading about this outcome. Helpless feeling. May God's peace surround everyone so greatly affected by this tragedy. Prayers from Boone County.

Mr. Cotton has indeed played well and is the Rebs' most athletic player. Mr. McFarland is the leader that keeps things on track. The Rebs really did not play real sharp but this was a total mismatch. I think you'll see them in better form on Friday night for a battle vs. Ryle. Congrats again to Cooper on getting a district win in their first year. Coach Sully will do well over time.

One good game and one blowout tonight in Florence. I'm looking ahead to the Friday night championship. Conner and Ryle can't look ahead - I look for that to be a very tight game. Thoughts?

We thought there was more to the story than reported at the beginning of this thread. Good for Coach Henley. Great coach. Hope lessons are learned for life's sake. BB is just a game.

Defending champs never go down easy. Congrats to both teams on a game well played.

They played in the season opener, which seems unusual to me for a district game, but it was at Holmes. Dawgs by 19. The key to Beechwood staying close is the Trey-Ball. If Beuttel is hot, this game could get interesting. Holmes will win by 6 if the Beechies shoot well and by 15-20 if the shots are not falling.

Almost a shocker.

HC challenges the Dawgs to a rematch and we start the game with the same score that this one ended at, 45-24. However, this time, Holmes does not get to shoot for 32 minutes. So, we're looking at a final score of about 48-45 HC. Should be a barnburner. Again, congrats to the Dawgs and best wishes to all HC seniors as they go on to other things.

Sounds like Ryle's young girls withstood the pressure of the 1st round of districts. Congrats to them. Best wishes to all of Conner's senior girls.

Please no more about the refs - just can't believe it was anything other than normal missed calls and bad calls both ways. Congrats to EC on the win and sounds like ECarter played a whale of a game.

Congrats to Holmes. Not easy to go into the enemy's camp and win by 21 in a do-or-die game. 1st game of a tourney is always the toughest. Hate to see such low scores all year by HC - just a personal preference for watching more up-tempo basketball. Can't blame HC followers for not filling the house and watching that type of ball all year long.
