Now I understand why LN and Henry gave the predictions they did because that's their usual routine, cautious. I don't understand the broad spectrum of predictions so far though. We don't really know anything about them and are there any common teams that we've both played to compare or gauge the team by? Without a basis for comparison and given their size of 15 kids over 250 lbs. They do make me sort of nervous. I'll be pensive prior to making any predictions. The only prediction I can make is that I will be there Friday to see what happens.

I would hope that Schneider wouldn't keep the 1's in long enough to score 70 but sadly enough, against this team, the 2's and 3's may do just that. Who are we to tell the back ups to not play hard. They wait all year to get their shot especially in the playoffs. I do think that the Breds will be riding high off their big win of former district foe Beechwood.

I agree with this. I think it is good for some of the kids in every division to recieve some recognition. I also think that the cost of a few trophies may just mean a full-ride scholarship for a few more boys. That's worth it's weight in gold.

I just think that Dixie has started hitting their Mojo and they are flowing pretty good. Road game or not, the Colonels will win this one. They may prove to be one of the more dangerous opponents down the road in the 5A playoffs. Sorry Tomcats, but I will say that I do like your stadium. I remember it well when we beat you in '92 to go on and win state.

Just think of how many of them would have higher totals if they didn't pull their 1's and 2's in the lopsided victories. I personally know that Highlands, St X, JC, Trinity, and Belfry would have higher totals if it were a real competition. But they have all pulled off the reigns out of respect.

With 12 guys over 250 and 3 over 300, these boys may wear down our guys a little more than what they have been used to. I do think that Central had a few big fellas and you see how it worked out for them....

Too many times in years past the starters were pulled early. I remember when the mistake of letting Lorenzen, Smith, and others coming out after the half in street clothes. The team that they were up on ended up coming back to the point that they almost had to run in and put uniforms back on. I think that mistake will never be made again. Also, These guys haven't had that many close games this year and need to get some reps and build their endurance up to survive for a whole game. I don't blame them at all for keeping the D-starters in entire time. If they kept passing with starters on Offense until the end and "appearing to run up the score" then I would have to take issue with that. I have seen a few instances where it wasn't necessary to get another score but it was done. It's one thing to do it via grinding it out with a bunch of running plays, but with a few bombs, that seems to be unnecessary. I am not upset but it is rough to be on the other side of that. Just ask the JV when St X routed them. So, long story short, they are doing the right thing by keeping the Defense in longer. It may not hurt to rotate in some of the 2's but only if breaks would be needed. Highlands knows what they are doing and so does Dale. How many has he coached now that have won state titles? I would say enough to trust him in that he has a good game plan.

Look how many Trotwood had last year. Wasn't it like 8 or 9?

I think that they have always wore those. As far back as I can remember atleast.

Watching film and the scoreboard are two different things. I would say that Cov Cath does have a solid team, I do question some of the new methods and leadership since it seems to be very different from past sucessful coaching staffs there. All the talent in the world means nothing if you can't put points on the board. Just ask Trotwood-Madison. They learned that last year.

I volunteered to take the job each of the last 3 years and told the former director of the program 10 years ago that I would be available to do ANYTHING needed to help the program. I think that there were just some people that didn't want the help. I hope that things change.

I was in Vegas the night of the election and people were running wild through the streets with early editions of the newspaper. It was pretty wild. I felt like that after waking up with Jet Lag this morning back in the Fort!

I was one too, but it was only because I support all NKY teams that aren't playing HHS. I know that X will most likely be the victor. Heck, their JV team could challenge for a state title in many other divisions after what I saw them capable of doing. BTW, Colonel fans better get their early because X brought up about 100+ fans to HHS for the JV game and even their own Medical Staff SUV w/ Trailer in tow. If they will show up like that for JV, you know how they travel for Varsity. I honestly haven't seen X Varsity play this year but if they are better than their JV, which I am certain they are, look out! I have seriously never seen the speed and athleticism on any team that I did of X's JV (with the exception of Colerain). Here is my prediction: X will either cruise to an easy ending of the year or Cov Cath coach Brossart has started feeling the heat and masterminds the All-Time underdog victory upsetting a Nationally ranked team who came into Park Hills underestimating a talented opponent. How many times has HHS underestimated Cov Cath and paid the price for it?

For all you Title 9 supporters, here is a prime example of left wing extremists taking something way too far! Who are the ones who suffer? The students!!!

I was wondering how long I was going to read into this thread before I saw someone mention this. Central had a horrible showing of fans last year that their place but they did have an amazing band that made it more than intimidating for those of us that did go. Their band was talking trash in an innocent playful way to us and I loved it that they knew that much about their team and even pointed out good players. How many of our band members know that much about our team? Sidenote: I have to say I was very disappointed in our band a few weeks ago when they forgot how to play the National Anthem. They got lost on an entire 8-count. It was very embarrassing not only as a Highlands fan, but as an American. The number one song that every band should know is the National Anthem. What a disservice to all of the men and women who have, do, and will fight for our country by not playing the National Anthem accurately. Back to the game. I feel that just as the trip last year did for Highlands, the trip to Ft Thomas will prove to make the game a little tougher for the Jackets. I don't think it will make them any slower or less talented, but being out of your element or "safe zone" so to speak, makes it tough on you. I am not certain on the last visit they made to HHS but it can be a very hard place to play. Having that crowd right behind you can get very frustrating. Last week we heard Madison Central's coach screaming cuss-words at his players after a bad play and it was most disheartening to hear a high school coach talking to players this way. I know that this is just the way some coaches do it, but is it necessary?

If this is the case, this is truly a sad state of affairs. I know that HHS does not have competitive cheerleading and in turn not a huge turnout each year as do the other schools that compete, but let's hope that the NEW coach who was a former student of mine will right the ship. I, being a former college cheerleader and coach for the past 15 years, volunteered to help at HHS but the "free help" was not welcomed by the former coach. I also spoke with the new coach and she told me she'd let me know. Henry, you told me awhile back to get involved. That's what I know and am good at but sometimes people are too proud and stubborn for the help. I would hate to think this is the reason that we don't have Frosh cheerleaders and nothing hurts worse when playing to not even have anyone cheering for you. The junior football league even has cheerleaders. Something is clearly wrong with this picture IF this is the truth. As for the Frosh Birds: Men, the sun will come up and everything will move on. The one thing that you need to remember is that horrible feeling in your gut after the game last night and how badly you don't want to feel that ever again. Take that feeling with you into next year and it will help to guide you to righteousness. Good luck men and you will find your way.

I bought $50 first year, ate all $50 I bought $25 second year, ate all $25 Third year, one girl came to my house and I gave her the entire bowl of candy. Lucky her! Her mother was less than thrilled. I figured, it was her or me and I am fat enough!

Those statistics are pretty mind-boggling. I really didn't think our boys would be this dominate this year. I knew they would win some ballgames, but putting up those stats for the year is pretty impressive. Way to go boys, keep it up. Don't get caught snoozing, if you'll remember, we almost did last year by Louisville Central.
