  1. OMG, Ryle hits a shot with 4 seconds left to tie the game. Steals the in bounds pass, gets fouled as time expires, misses both FTs but wins in OT. As usual, Conner gives Ryle fits in post season but the Raiders finally prevail.
  2. Sounds like it was a great game. Sorry I missed it. Congratulations to the Lady Raiders on the win and getting a slot in the regional tournament. See you tomorrow night when you take on Boone which should be another great game.
  3. Russell hit both ends of a one-on-one with 2.4 seconds remaining to break the tie. NCC played well down the stretch and had a shot to win the game. Unfortunately for them, they missed the shot and fouled trying to get the rebound. After some turnovers early in the game, both teams played well.
  4. Raiders get their 4th straight win in a hard fought game at NCC.
  5. Not sure I agree with all the above statement. I thought Ryle did a pretty good job of getting the ball inside the other night against Beechwood. The big guys just could not finish. Ryle's 4 inside players, Nichols, Stauffer, Russell, and Lamping were 5 for 19 for the game and I would say 15 of those shots were from 2 feet or less. But to their credit, they all played good defensive and shut down Beechwood inside game. Beechwood made more 3 pointers in the game than 2's, 9 to 8.
  6. Romes did not have a good night. No FG's and 2 for 8 from the line. He is a very good player though and I am sure he will get it going.
  7. Ryle 14 13 11 21 Beechwood 8 13 21 10 Ryle: Coleman - 15 Ahern - 14 McLeish - 11 Russell - 8 Stauffer - 8 Nichols - 3 Beechwood Beuttel - 26 Hall - 9 Snyder - 7 Pohlgeers - 2 Romes - 2
  8. Raiders hand Beechwood only their 4th lost of the season.
  9. My guess is Beechwood is thinking more about Ryle than Villa right now since they play the Raiders tonight.
  10. As cooperstown mentioned above, Ryle has good skill players coming back that have varsity experience. The question mark will be the offensive and defensive lines. They did have several injuries to underclassman last year in these positions so if those guys can come back strong along with the backups from last year, it could be a good year for the Raiders. Ryle lost a lot of good defensive players, Nick and Gus Murray, Josh Lamping, Chris Brzinski, Jeremy Poe to name a few. Those guys will be missed but Logan Carney is a good defensive back that is returning. Court Mace, Logan Holman, Connor Coyle along with some others will be looked at to fill those positions. Ryle will be in the 2nd year of transforming their offensive so they should be more consistent when they have the ball.
  11. Everybody thinks Woofe runs a 52 but it is actually a 34.
  12. Great win for Boone. Seemed like Holmes came out flat and never could really get it going. Riley is a great player and imo the key to Holmes, he didn't have a great game tonight. You have to give Boones defensive some credit.
  13. Boone Co. 10 8 13 19 - 50 Ryle 7 12 8 3 - 30 Boone Gabbard - 12 McFarland - 4 Cotton - 14 Brown - 4 Popp - 8 Earls - 8 Ryle Ahern - 3 Lamping - 2 Russell - 2 Coleman - 5 McLeish - 9 Nichols - 1 Stauffer - 6 Butts - 2 Boone forced the Raiders into a lot of turnovers in the 2nd half and when the Raiders did get shots off, they were not falling.
  14. Boone Co./Ryle boys basketball game will be played at 6:00 tonight. It will be followed by the Boone Co./Ryle girls varsity game.
  15. It's good to see Maddox able to come back and play well after being injured. G Co. needs him on the floor.
  16. Not sure, is that the way it is figured? Also, I believe Boone still has to play at Conner. (Snowed out last week). Does anyone know when that game will take place.
  17. Game scheduled for this Wednesday due to last weeks snow out. Raiders have a tough week, Boone on Tuesday, Highlands Wednesday and Dixie on Friday. All 3 games are in Union.
  18. The winner I believe will be the #1 seed for the district tournment.
  19. Highlands/Ryle game has been postponed for tonight. No make up date has been determined at this time.
  20. Not sure about the second part of this commit "Pittman ALWAYS talks in games, but at the same time he backs it up and always shows respect toward his opponent." I saw him after the game when the teams were shaking hands still taunting Stauffer.
  21. Ryle stats: Coleman -13 Lamping - 6 McLeish - 6 Russell - 5 Nichols - 5 Stauffer - 4 Stinson - 2 Holmes shot 40% for the game, Ryle shot 34% Free Throwns Holmes 70% Ryle 57% 3 pointers Holmes 35% Ryle 21%Ryle Talk about missed opportunities. One of Ryle leading scorer, McLeish hardly played in the first half due to fouls. IMO Holmes in is the best team in the state but Ryle played them well tonight. It wasn't because the Johnson brothers were in foul trouble and missed opportunities. Ryle had the same issues. Holmes has a great team and J. Riley is not only a great player but seems to be a great young man as well. One bright spot for the Raiders tonight was their JV team beat the Bulldogs. I believe that was only their 2nd lost of the year.
  22. As of now the Boone Co./Cov.Cath. game is on as well.
