I am not sure about his speed, but I know that he is strong. I saw him get hit by a 325 pound defensive lineman and keep his legs moving. He broke free from the lineman's arms and the lineman grabbed hold of his jersey. He dragged the 325 pound lineman for about 5 to 7 yards untill his jersey ripped. Then he ran another 60 yards for a touchdown. His legs are HUGE!!!

I am unfamiliar with a lot of the names on this list, but I did get to watch Breathitt County's Channing Fugate in person last weekend. He is the real deal. I sat in the stands surrounded by Mercer County fans that actually cheered when Fugate was tackled for a 40 yard gain (after running the opening kickoff back for a touchdown and his first carry of the game for a 45 yard touchdown). Now that is impressive!!!

I think this season looks good for the Lynn Camp Wildcats. The schedule seems to be pretty good with a heavy start to the year with Clay County, Whitley County, and Lexington Christian in the first three weeks. If Lynn Camp can come out of these three games healthy and confident, then the rest of the schedule is in their favor. Each game should be a hard fought contest for the rest of the year, but Lynn Camp shouldn't feel bad about their chances in any of the games. The numbers of players appear to be up and Spring Practice seems to be going well too. There are holes left from last years seniors but the younger players have already stepped up to fill some of them. There is a really good group of incoming freshmen and experienced sophomores. If they can stay HEALTHY (which is a concern for almost every team - but a REALLY HUGE one for the Wildcats the last couple of years), they should have a fun, productive year.

What is the old saying, "If there is smoke, there is usually fire!" If week after week, the refs are in "favor" of the same team, then why wouldn't the other teams complain. If it happens once or twice, I could almost see your (somewhat obnoxious, nose-in-the-air) point. But if it happens week after week after week, then there might be something to it. However, I think that whatever Williamsburg is doing, the shoudl keep doing it. If the refs aren't holding them to the same set of rules as everybody else, then why should they play by the rules. I think the blame falls on the refs.

The hits on Williamsburg's QB were LEGAL and all a part of the game. What do you call the hit on Wagner's knee FROM BEHIND after one of his punts??? Don't tell me that was accidental or legal!! That is trying to take someone out of the game!!!

I agree whole-heartedly with you Cat N The Hat, what about the numerous cheap shots that the Williamsburg players were taking on Lynn Camp's players. From pulling them down, to late hits, to hitting out of bounds, to shoving in the back, to trying to take out Wagner's knees. I think that Williamsburg's players showed no class whatsoever in this game, but the refs should have ended a lot of the extra curricular stuff with some flags. Now I can see why these two teams really do dislike each other so much.

If most of the HUGE calls were in his favor, why should he make excuses. I don't know what is in the water in Williamsburg, but it sure does something to the refs. This is the second game that I have seen in Williamsburg this year where, in my opinion, the refs have cost the visiting teams dearly. I think there that in the off-season there should be a HUGE emphasis on holding the refs accountable for their games.

Once again, I think it goes to the time the flags are thrown. The first series for Williamsburg, 4 and long, and there is a 'non-existent' 12th man on the field, flag on Lynn Camp, first down for Williamsburg. One of Lynn Camp's first series, 3rd and short, there is an obvious 'non-call" for pass interference - the defender never looked back for the ball, wrapped his arm around Sidney Wagner and even shoved him. Yet, there was no call. Two times the ball popped out of Williamsburg players' hands on the Lynn Camp side of the field, the official on Lynn Camp's side of the field drops his bean bag, and the official with the obstructed view on Williamsburg's sideline comes in and calls the ball down. This was a hard fought game on both sides, however, I do believe that every possible call that mattered went Williamsburg's way. I think this is another game that shows how much Kentucky needs to have some way that the refs are held accountable for their calls.

Actually, the points went to the last week of the season last year too. By beating Lynn Camp last year, Williamsburg forced the 3-way tie (sound vaguely familiar to anyone?). Then the next 2 weeks were important because of points. Lynn Camp lost both games to Hazard and Middlesboro and that allowed Williamsburg to take over first place. So, much like Williamsburg did last year, Lynn Camp must win to force a 3-way tie, and then take their destiny in their own hands. Lynn Camp's players and fans know that going into this game too and they are prepared.

I have only had the pleasure of dealing with Coach Wiseman the last couple of seasons, but it has truly been an honor. He seems to be a truly gracious coach and man with a true love for the game and his players. I am sure that he will land on his feet somewhere else where his talents will be appreciated. Not for nothing, but his schedule was brutal and his former school is still in the hunt for a home playoff game. The Best of Luck to you Coach.

Where is the game going to be played? If it is at Williamsburg, they will probably win big - unless there is a huge let down from their win versus Campbellsville. If it is at Harlan, Harlan should have a decent shot, they are a hard-nosed group of kids.

I have seen both teams play a couple of times this year and I have seen "the good, the bad, and the ugly" from both teams. It should be a battle and I do believe that the final score will be a lot closer than most people think.

I think that anybody that has ever been to or participated in a football game, knows that it is not the amount of flags or penalty yards, but WHEN the flags are thrown. You can have a 10-yard holding penalty for each team, one brings back a 50 yard touchdown run and the other just makes bad field position even worse. Which one has hurt a team more? . . . Yet, both teams have 10 penalty yards. I didn't have a dog in this fight, I was just thinking that a blown call can make a huge difference in the momentum of a game.

Distric 6 shapes up like this: Williamsburg controls their own fate. If they beat Lynn Camp in two weeks they are the #1 seed (3-0 in district), Campbellsville is the #2 seed (2-1), Lynn Camp is the #3 seed (1-2), and Clinton County is the #4 seed (0-3). If Lynn Camp beats Williamsburg, there is a 3-way tie for first with 2-1 records (just like last year), and it goes to the tie-breakers and Clinton County is the #4 seed (0-3).

If the officiating was so horrible, what actions can be taken? Are they not held responsible for the games that they call? I know that they are human and can make mistakes, it happens all of the time. So, I am not talking about missing a call every once in awhile. I am talking about the ones that seem to consistently make "mistakes" in favor of or at the cost of certain teams, time and time again. Can't you send a tape to someone to watch? Who holds the refs accountable? What steps can be taken to make sure that refs are impartial? HOW CAN AND WHY WOULD SOMEONE CHANGE REFS THE NIGHT BEFORE A GAME?? I know that it is frustrating for coaches and players to prepare all week for a particular game and opponent, and then feel like the game is taken over by the guys in stripes. Like someone already said, refs are wrong everytime that they make a call (or to at least one side of the game thinks they are wrong).

NO! NO! NO! If I have told you once, I have told you a dozen times! You never start out with a turn. It is step 2, 3, 4, step 2, 3, 4 and then you turn!

Did I miss something or has HC already played their season? Did they already win the 3 A State Champioship? Don't they have to actually make it to the playoffs, just like every other team? So far they have played one game, and lost it (no disrespect to Coach Larkey or any of the HC faithful - I am just stating the facts). Does it matter how many kids are on the sidelines, or does it matter that there are 11 on the field? I have coached at a large school and at a small school. At both, we could only have 11 players on the field at any one time. I was a coach on a team that played Mercer that year, man were they good!! I am a coach on a team that is going to play HC later this year, a much smaller school to boot. You know what, none of the players on that first team really cared and all of the players on the second team are looking forward to the challenge!! I don't really care to talk about "winning the state" untill I am sitting at Papa John's for that last game of the season. I think it is absurd to talk about "punishing" players for things that are out of their controll too (like who chose their district for them). Why don't we just let the kids play some football and have some fun - 11 players at a time. Afterall, isn't that what playing football is really about?
