Dominique Hayden?

Featured Replies

Any word out there on where he might be attending college? He has been rolling up the yards this year and looks like a really good college prospect?

I had read in the pre-season thread by a LCA poster that UCLA was interested. I believe his brother is the tailback at Western KY.

It would not surprise me about UCLA! I hope Ky gives him a look, as I think he could play there. His numbers might be even bigger if it was not that he sometimes gets taken out in the 4th qtr of blowouts that sometimes happens with LCA! By the way, his brother Tyrell does start at taliback for Western Ky.

The obvious question which I don't expect a good answer on is ... how fast is he? To be a D1 back it takes a level of talent most people do not truly understand. Everyone thinks that stud high school RB should be starting D1 somewhere but D1 RB is a whole different level. I think Hayden is a unique talent with his low profile and power plus speed. But is he fast enough to be a D1 RB...I kind of doubt it to be honest. But we will find out soon enough. If he is fast enough, the recruiters will find him and he will get a D1 offer. That is where the judgment lies at the end of the day - with the recruiters.

Hayden's job is to keep doing what he is doing the best he can and don't worry about all this. The college that he fits best at and that wants him will find him and he will find it.

I beleve I saw something last year that he was running a 4.57. Keep in mind this kid is over 200lbs! He's not a 5"11 190lb runningback like alot are coming out of highschool. I'd like to see him attend Cincinnati.

He is my pick for Mr. Football since the slow start of Fugate.

I have seen Dominique Hayden play several times in the last few years, but none this season. He seems to be a clone of Moncell Allen at UK. According to each of the Rivals.com profiles before their senior season, their size, speed, and strength are very similar. Moncell went to Fork Union Military Academy to get his academic standing in order after transfering from Baton Rouge, Louisiana to Charlotte, North Carolina after Hurricane Katrina.

How would any BGPrepsters who have seen Dominique this season compare him to Moncell Allen?

I have known Dominique many years all the back to when he was living in Mt. Sterling. He is a very good football player and a very good kid. He just needs to play football and worry about the recruiting stuff after the season. I know his goal is a state championship, he just needs to focus on that and everything will fall into place. Good luck Dominique

Dom is a tremendous player. If he stays healthy he can take LCA to championship. Personally I see him going to a Western, Eastern, Akron, Middle Tennessee level. I don't think he is SEC caliber back but anytime you can get a DI scholarship you are doing well for yourself. I personally hope that Marshall will take a look, he is good enough to play there.

He is definately good enough for Marshall, Akron, etc. Kelvin Turner from Danville went to Marshall. Dominique is definately just as good or better than him.

I am not sure about his speed, but I know that he is strong. I saw him get hit by a 325 pound defensive lineman and keep his legs moving. He broke free from the lineman's arms and the lineman grabbed hold of his jersey. He dragged the 325 pound lineman for about 5 to 7 yards untill his jersey ripped. Then he ran another 60 yards for a touchdown. His legs are HUGE!!!
