  1. I just can't believe there is not more posting and good back and forth banter on this thread. This is usually the week for sandbagging and a little good humored badgering. What in the world is going on?! I had to search for this thread on page 2. WOW.
  2. I figured this thread would be blowing up. It's Tuesday and only 16 posts?
  3. I am friends with both staffs, treat kids on both teams and graduated/played ball @ GC.........I'll be shaking hands, kissing babies, laughing at all the jokes AND sitting/standing in the endzone! No way I'm picking either team.
  4. OMGsh! He led 2 teams to victory over us that year. So glad he didn't "move" to a different physical address. LOL
  5. I love flipping through the paper and I love reading the sports pages. I get scores from social media but there is nothing like Sat morning with a cup of coffee and the sports page. I don't care if I know the results prior to having the paper. It's the story of the game and the quotes from the coaches & players. The cool pictures that are taken. The Daily Independent is in Ashland, KY and covers our Region very well. Aaron Snyder, Matt Sparks, Zack Klemme, Rocky Stanley, John Flavell, etc cover many games and put personal stories about individual players in the paper throughout the week. Awesome coverage and from the sounds of others on this thread, a throwback to the old days.
  6. Raceland needs to find that killer instinct and a way to keep their foot on the accelerator. If that happens, the Rams can be good. If not, Aaron Snyder will be correct, 7-3 and a second place finish in the District.
  7. There is so much sandbagging on this thread, I thought I had gone to the beach!
  8. West Carter has a solid defense and they swarm to the ball. I was very impressed with Coach Brown and his team. They have good skill kids. They'll be tough to beat in their District.
  9. Raceland's offense has to learn to finish drives and to catch the dang ball! I love our defense and I really like our offense, not in love with it yet. It's early.
  10. The score is not indicative of how dominant Raceland's defense was last night. West Carter has a nice team and will only get better as the year progresses.
  11. So far, so good. We appear healthy and ready to start the season.
  12. Oldrambler, not one injury. Well, Coach Salmons son, Jake, did run over our AD's left ankle with his bicycle. The rubber tire tore some skin. I do not anticipate him losing any time due to this injury. I'll list him as, "day to day". LOL
  13. It was not my intention to be ill towards you. I was just letting everyone know what our stats guy had.
  14. According to our stays guy, we had 325 rushing yards and 157 passing yards in 3 qtrs.
  15. I really like the coaching staff and team @ West Carter. I think everything said to date in this thread is correct. I do think home field will aid WC in the first half but Raceland has depth on the line and at the skill positions. Depth along with the recent heat gives me the inclination that a 3-4 TD win is not unrealistic for the Rams.
  16. I agree with the comment about our overall speed and hitting. This looks more like Raceland football and much closer to our Regional Championship teams. I was very pleased with the play of everyone. Damon Black and Bailey Walker looked really well and Judd Adkins and Chase Love looked good in back-up roll at running backs. Davidson looked good at QB. Cameron Webb has great speed and looked very nice at receiver tonight. Our defense got to the ball and hit hard and made nice tackles. I thought our offensive & defensive lines played tough. It's early and it was only the Grid but I was pleasantly surprised. It was nice to play another team instead of hitting on our own guys.
