Any word here? It seems to be dragging on forever. If anyone wonders why Boone County and Ryle has a stronger program, they can look right here. Both of those schools would have had this settled by now.

Is this not the function of the All A tournament?

I think the glory days for the Demons are gone. I don;t see this program ever returning to mediocrity. All things considered Size, geographic location, district opponents, etc are too much for them to overcome. I would be shocked if they ever have another wining record for a season. They may not win another district game for a few years.

Is there a day set for him to meet the players? The boys have been asking about him.

What about the jr high guy named AJ? I know little about him except he used to be the frosh coach a few years ago. I think he is a Willy grad.

I heard the name Sigmond and Tyler Jones.

The long awaited hire has ended with a bang. To get a man of this caliber is exciting. It'll be nice having Coach Hicks around. I'm very happy for our boys as they embark on a new era in Braves Basketball. I hope he considers bringing back coach Plunkett and Coach West, but it usually is best to start anew with a new staff. But deep inside I still think Coach Utter was the right choice and hope he does not become a stranger.

:eyeonyou: If you have to pursue and beg kids to play, you are setting yourself up for disaster if you convince them.

This is always said but always over exaggerated. There are no seven footers or 80% thrre point shooters in the halls at GCHS. The athletic department at GC does a fantastic job trying to overcome exterior barriers and the AD and coaches of all sports should be congradulated for getting kids to work hard and overcome their own barriers.

This is true. And I personally think this should change.

The GC Boys deserve a little more credit. There is a potential for success. No one is going to come in here and wave a magic wand and turn the program into a regional contender next season. The new coach will have to start to build the morale and instill his philosophy. His hard work may not show itself for three more years.

Patience. It is more important for the AD to pick the right person. Looking around the state, there are several jobs still open Estill North Oldham Dunbar These have been posted longer than Grant. What's the rush. So you miss out on open gym, big deal. Its worth it to get the right man.

They'll have a hard time filling this one.
