Corbin's Defense just on the field too long against that pounding offense. Thought Corbin's offense needed to have it's best game of the year and it didn't. Congrats to JC. -
I do think this one of the best jobs in the state. But it will take a coach with a big ego to not care about hearing Dale's name mentioned every time they lose a game many think they shouldn't. There are many that fit that mold but it will have to be the right person. I think it's a great job.

I heard that Chuck may join his son's staff at SW next year. Brandon played at Western and I know he loves the area. I think he would be a great hire but I don't think he's leaving Bowling Green anytime soon.

I think "very good season" is a stretch. Harrison County is the only team they beat that had a winning record at 5-4 and the other three teams the beat had a combined record of 5-17. After they lose Friday they will end up 4-4 so not really seeing it. This is the problem with the inter-district first and second round. Boyle and LexCath should not have had to play in the second round.

Boyle County 49 Lexington Catholic 41

I would like to know the last time Boyle gave up 500 yards on defense. Boyle only rushed three most of the night. Another problem with their pass defense was when they did send a couple of linebackers on blitzes they overran the QB and didn't get the sack. You can't send extra people and then miss the QB, which happened most of the time they sent someone. That was only a handful of plays. Most of the pass defense was still coverage issues. -

Boyle County 49 Lexington Catholic 41

All in all this may end up helping Boyle in the long run. The starters had not given up a point since Highlands in Sept. May have gotten a little complacent. Will certainly have a lot to look at on film and to work on in practice. If it sharpens them for the next three rounds then fine. Catholic is very well coached and played hard the entire game. The old saying goes, "you either win or you learn". Boyle may have done both tonight. -

Bullitt East made it to the second round !!!!! WooHoo !!! -
They have played too many times for anyone wearing black and gold to think they just have to show up. Plus LexCath is having a pretty good season. 5-2 with only losses coming from LCA and Boyle and coming off an upset of CovCath. Plus they led the Lexington Christian game 20-7 with 9 min to play. I do wish Boyle had a tougher go of it the last few weeks. 35 points is the closest margin of victory they've had this year and that was in the middle of September agains CAL. I wish they would had played a game that was still in doubt in the 4th quarter. CAL was still in doubt at halftime but again that was 6 games and 2 months ago. So again, I don't think it will be a running clock again and I do think it will be closer, but I just don't think LexCath has the running game to make Boyle come out of the 3 man front enough to hit them with many big plays. If Gillis has a good game Boyle should still win by 3-4 scores. But we will see.
