Much Heralded Bwood Seniors... No Ring, Get In the back of the bus.

:thumb: Being a relative new comer to NKY, I only hear the rumors of what BW football was in the past. I really dont agree with the way the coaches handle the players. Having been around many coaches, at all levels, I find the tantrums on the sidelines and in the locker room to be a poor example as how to behave. This is high school football , and the players are young men working through life deciding who they will become. Teams are a reflection of the leadership! To coach with fear and intimidation at a school like Beechwood is an injustice to the players. The goal of any person working with the youth of today should be to give them tools they can use in the future. Fear and intimidation wont work for these kids. Now I am not saying the coaching staff is all evil or anything like that. I do believe they need to look at themselves, as we all need to from time to time. I am very proud my son decided to follow other pursuits, and not play for Noel Rash or to be associated with this football team...

 earth to spartan

Does that go for the coaching staffs as well ? Can they be held accountable for decisions made in games? Are they willing to step to the plate and not hide behind screen names ?

Kind of funny how amateur coaches walk around patting themselves on the back.

I once heard a young fellow say Raceland was like budwieser......... Beechwood aged.:ylsuper: Sorry Ram couldnt help it

the 2008(senior) group had a very special chemistry. Hard workers on and off the field.

BW just going through the growing pains of a young team. Will be all right in 1a play. Mayfield will be a load. Hope they get prepared.

Higlands coaches develop talent, Beechwood coaches wait for talent to show up.

Why are top players opting not to play at the senior level? I thought I read in another post 7 or 8 players from years past ( jv and Fresh) are not even on the team. Also didn’t I hear some, not all, varsity captains from last year caused some problems? Actions speak louder than words. If all that matters is wins, they are “fine”. IMO high school football should be more than just wins and losses. After watching the coaches on the side lines I can understand the player’s frustrations. Fear and intimidation is no way to coach… Guru is right, slipping is accurate.

The Beechwood program can not compete with the Highlands program. Just too big of a difference in the way they develop players.

With the physically weak line of Beechwood one can only hope the Bluebirds don’t injure the tigers backs to bad. The bluebirds up by 35 points by the half. Dale shows mercy and only puts 65 on the board by the end of the game. 5 turnovers wont be enough...

Larimore, Genal, Mathews

Mayfield is the team to beat. Just read an article in the paper that Beechwoods Mathews is out for the year. That makes three projected senior starting linemen out for the year.

Larimore has decided to pursue other interests.

Josh Genal from Beechwood will be in attendance.

If BW does in fact go to a platoon system, will they change the way they prepare during the week. Also who plays in the mop up situations.

A third potential QB is Zach Larimore. He is probably one of the best athletes on the BW roster. As a sophomore he was in consideration for QB until the powers that be went with Daniels and then to Rigdon moving Larimore to a two way starter at both O and D end. The young man can flat out run, which would put him into the mold of past BW QBs, and he also has the strongest passing arm on the team. Experience is another question to be answered, none of the potential QBs have much experience in games that matter on the varsity level. Larimore was a two way starter during the last successful championship run. The question I have is this, can the coaches mold the offense to the players, or do they try to mold the players to the offense? This team may not have the large bodies of the past, but over the past few years an emphasis has been placed on developing athletic skill at all positions. This is by far the strongest and most skilled team I have seen at BW since moving to Northern KY.

Junior has eatin to much pie and cant get into his game pants... if he greases his thighs with gravy is that an equipment violation?

First, it's very important to remember the definition of "kicker": A player is not a kicker until the ball is actually kicked. (So if the player muffs the ball or just gets tackled with the ball, he is a "runner" and is afforded no special protection). Since a "rugby style kick" occurs outside the normal alignment of the tackle, the player became a runner long before he became a kicker. So, the defense is given a little more leeway than on a normal scrimmage kick occurring between the tackles: "A defensive player shall neither run into the kicker, nor block, tackle or charge into the kicker other than when...Contact is unavoidable because it is not reasonably certain that a kick will be made. So, the short answer is that the rugby style punter still has protection against roughing the kicker (if he kicks it!). But if he holds it too long and the defender has initiated a charge to tackle him before he kicks it, there will be no foul. This is not a free shot for the defender; it's more of a mitigating factor in the favor of the defense.

I just dont think any of those places would be acceptable if alcohol was being served at the time the kids are there. (school event) Will he be closed to the public ? Just to much risk when alcohol is involved. JMO. One drunk joe public could ruin someones life or cause trouble. If Peewee wants to do something for the athletes he could close the bar portion. JMO

Just the facts. Enrollment and rings. Kind of like David and Goliath. You know the story right? Maybe not, how about the little engine that could? Your missing the word tradition in your quote colonelcrazy :clap:

Apples and oranges. 1a and 5a … beat your chest somewhere else… I will take BWs best eleven against cch best eleven any day… dress the same amount and be men… LOL really just having fun… Not really sure about PeeWees BAR… not a very thought out deal if you ask me or other parents. Taking children to a bar, is a bad idea. The logo is a drunken turtle for heavens sake. Whatever the reason, the setting is wrong if there is alcohol on the property! The game should be fun, enjoy. I will be the one cheering for BW.

Current enrollment of boys @ each school 9-12 CCH- 513 BW- 196 The BW tradition of 11 state championships should help the BW boys keep it close or even win! BW by 10
