  1. Always a tough district Harrison has to play to get to region.
  2. So I understand that who hosts district usually rotates among the members. My question is why, if a field isn't in condition to play, can't you move it to another. In the 40th district tonight the Montgomery/Bourbon game was cancelled because of this. Apparently around the rest of Kentucky the rain wasn't enough to keep others from playing. So would you be allowed to move the game to another sight, such as Montgomery or even Clark county???
  3. Especially with Powell eliminated from even making the region tourney.
  4. From what I've heard Powell threw the same pitcher all three times they have played this year. The first two times Lee couldn't hit him. I guess third times the charm.
  5. It's rough that LCA won't even get to region. Very tough district.
  6. The great thing about baseball is that anyone can beat anyone on any given day.
  7. I don't remember the opossum playing the past couple years. I just don't think this Harrison team hits like the Harrison team in the past. They always have the defense and they definately have the pitching this year, I just think their hitting is down.
  8. Your issue is that a lot of coaches won't step in. If the coach is as big of a jerk as the kids how can you expect him to step in and say something. Otherwise chances are he wouldn't have been in the game in the first place.
  9. That rain at the beginning of the year took about 7 or 8 games out of our schedule. Maybe it effected them too.
  10. Bottom line... Its completely up in the air. THAT'S WHY YOU PLAY THE GAME. I think people will agree that the 10th is having an unusual "down" year as far as having 4 or 5 decently strong teams. From everything i've heard every team has been somewhat streaky in many areas of the game. Sounds like there is no clear frontrunner or runners like there was last year. Everyone is very very beatable.
  11. They started comparing it to basketball as far as the drafting and things and the amount of baseball players in the first round to basketball wasn't even close.
  12. They said last year that we are becoming more of a "baseball state."
  13. I caught a game this past fall where there was a player from the opposite team that was literally lined up behind the plate. I called an inside pitch to either jam him or back him off. The pitcher wasn't accurate enough and hit him. Next inning our pitcher got up and the kid who had had decent control all day threw it a couple miles faster and hit him at about the shoulder. 3 or 4 innings later we had the same kid that overcrowded the plate up and I called low and away. The ball clearly slipped from our pitchers hand and went behind the kid. The organization running the league immediately turned to our coach and said this is the last inning.
  14. How deep and how tall are the fences at North Laurel's High School softball field?
  15. Why did it get moved to Harrison?
  16. The old rule was to throw at their head in that situation, but now I am hearing that you need to aim at their feet or legs.
  17. What about Mayo. It impacted in the opposite ways than most of us are talking, but he had led Rose Hill to the Sweet Sixteen when he was in 7th grade i think???
  18. I agree completely, once again i think at times you have to back the kid off but you can still do that without throwing at him.
  19. Is it ever ok to throw at a batter??? Going to start it off saying throwing at a batter and backing him off the plate are very different. I'm talking about throwing with the intention to put him on his back.
  20. Montgomery is 2 and Bourbon is three. In the head to head Montgomery won by 4 the first game and only lost by 3 the second. Its really irrelevant though.
  21. I've only seen a few umpires not let batters take first if they are hit by balls if they have leaned in over the plate. But even when they finally have the umpire has called it a ball.
  22. This score really surprised me.
