I have never seen these Lions play, however I can bet that they do not compare to some of the Lions teams of the past. My son played for the Lions for 4 years and in one year they no-hit the Bluegrass 18's and run ruled the 17's. They beat the 18 year old Comair team and lost to the Colonels by just 1 run. This was when these kids were 15's. When the team was 16's they beat all of those teams again and only lost 4 games ALL SUMMER. They won every tournament they played in except for one.

And one more thing. Yes, you base your opinion on what you see. Dont you think the Old Guy who im pretty sure has been to almost every CCH game Luke has played in would know a little more about the kid than you?

I give the Raiders all the credit they are due. I'll be the first to tell you they have one heck of a coach and have a had a very VERY solid program for years now. But they are not a dynasty as you claim them to be, they are not the best thing the town has ever seen so when you get on here talking about them as you do its hard for others to give them the credit they deserve and thats a shame because they really have been that good. So let me ask you, why would anyone on here give your beloved Raiders any respect when you yourself are not willing to give anyone any respect? And yes it is not to hard to believe that one team could have a kids number. There are plenty of examples of guys even in the pros that just dont hit when they play against certain teams, it happens all the time.

A dozen or so? DD Come on what did the kid hit last year .560 something. Its impossible to have that many off games in a high school season and still hit .500 let alone .560. If your judging him in 4 years against Ryle then get a clue. Maybe Ryle just has his number who knows but to judge a kids entire high school career only by what he does against your favorite team is just delusional.

If you ask my opinion Luke is very much deserving of the title of a high school superstar. I mean seriously the kid has won 2 straight NKY POY's the kid has broken almost every record at a school that has a much much more storied past than your beloved Raiders. He is being looked at by some of the top schools in the nation whether or not he has offers yet i have no idea but the fact that they are there looking at him says allot. And all of this is not to mention the fact that the kid is a basketball all star selection as well. Now besides that here are my picks for the region next year: 1. Cov Cath 2. Conner 3. New Cath 4. Ryle 5. Beechwood

And to say that a kid is not a high school superstar just because of his performance against your almighty Raiders is a little bit juvenile. If Ty Cobb himself was to come to NKY and play high school baseball im sure there would be a game or two where he just didnt have it. So are you saying if Ty Cobb didnt hit against your team he would not be a super star?

DD, you have allot of room to talk. If i were an outsider from say Ohio or somewhere like that and i saw your posts i would think that Ryle was the only school in NKY.

Maybe Nick got the pitching award at Boone County for their end of year awards?

Changeup, do you know if Thursday is going to count as a day of rest. I was just wondering because I know the rain out days do not but I dont know if they decided anything about the Thursday they have off. It doesnt make much since to me not to count the rain out days but to count this Thursday??

Actually none of these pitchers are eligible to pitch tommorrow. The coaches agreed before the tournament started that if there was a rain out day that it would not count as a day of rest.

Why is this such a suprise? Myerhoff has made a living out of saving his best for the championship. He did it with Curley in 04', 05', and 06' winning it in 04' and 06'.

One thing to consider would be that when some scouts go to games they adjust their guns. For example sometimes when a pro scout comes to a game they adjust there gun to where the velocity comes up 3-4 MPH faster than the actual speed to see how hard the kid could be throwing in a few years. Also sometimes when there is a highly recruited pitcher and there are a bunch of schools there the scout will adjust the speed to where its coming up 3-4 MPH slower than what it is. This way the other scouts around him think that the kid is only throwing 80 MPH whereas the guy with the gun knows the kid is really throwin 85 and they think they have a better chance of getting the kid.

Conner beat Roenker 8-5 earlier in the year and all 8 runs were scored in the last 3 innings as Roenker through a no-hitter through 4.

They used Babb in that game against Silver Grove and lost that game as well.

Conner's field was in bad shape and the board still has not came out to put up the new scoreboard. The not having a scoreboard was one of the main reason they didnt want it at Conner. However Conner will be hosting the district tournament next season after a few upgrades have been made to the field. Second St. Henry could not host because they are hosting the softball tournament that same weekend and some of the parents complained the last time they tried this as foul balls were hitting people at the softball field. Third I think Ryle will do a fine job hosting the tournament.

TOG what does Ryle have that Conner doesnt? Ryle doesnt even have a pressbox.

The deal with the scoreboard and getting the visitors dugout added on to was that Conner had to wait until someone from the board came out and did it. Conner was told in January they would have a new dugout and they didnt get it until late April!

Thats quite the understatement. The softball team at Conner not only has a scoreboard and better dugouts but they also have a brand new press box that has a locker room in the top of it. Title 9 anyone?

Conner is only allowed to do so much with their field. They have had numerous parents offer to re-sod the infield and make many additions to the field but the school will not allow them to do so. Conner has had a brand new scoreboard sitting behind the visitors dugout for weeks now but cant put it up until someone from the board comes and does it, and if the new visitors dugout is any sign of how the board works then they wont have that new scoreboard up anytime soon as it took them 5 months to do the dugout. At a school such as St. Henry they can do whatever they want to their field.
