I also believe it will become down to St X and Male..... Both programs are rich in tradition, well coached, and are extremely talented. I give the nod to Male because of the overall team speed, pitching , bunting/fundamentals. Region Picks : 1) Male 2) St X 3) Eastern ( Surprise of region ) 4) CAL 5) Trinity 6) Ballard

St X is a very nice team....But it will be extremely tough for them to get out of the 7 th Region. There are a lot of quality teams that can beat you in a 1 and done scenario. The Bullseye continues to be on their back...

Male threw a kid by the name Oiler ( sp )...kept them off balance with off-speed and fastballs. Both teams played really well.

A very well played baseball game.....Male had 4 hits and the Tigers had 1. Male scored a run in the bottom of the second which held up to be the only run of the evening.

It appeared as if the Tigers pitchers failed to challenge the Bulldogs hitters....appeared as if they relied on mostly breaking pitches ( change ups, curve balls ). .... Tigers swung the bats pretty well up and down the line up. Dawgs had their chances but couldn't capitalize on the walks and wild pitches./passed balls.

Totally agree....There are going to be 3-4 teams that can win the 7th Region. The Bullseye is on X.....all THE TEAMS are gunning for them!

I would say there are a handful of Kentucky HS pitchers that throw 90+....

I will go with the 7th Region Champion.....Male or St.X.

ST.X has a loaded pitching staff along with several key position players returning this year. Also returning is a Pitcher who sat out last season as a Junior....He is arguably the most Talented Pitcher on the team. Good Luck Tigers!!

I have no ties to either of these 2 teams...but correct me if I am wrong...but didn't Male beat Trinity in basketball ( Regionals ) and baseball ( Regional Finals I believe)? Believe the Rocks were heavily favored to win both of these.....that's why you play the game!! Still think Trinity beats them handily.

Old timer...how many times has X finished ( in the top 10 in the state ) in the past 15-20 years? They are an average team with better than average pitching.....and average coaching....Just ask around the program.

Maybe I should be the ONE to remember this and LET YOU KNOW IT!!

St X lost several starters last year.....They do have a nice pitching staff...But to say they have a Great Coach and a top 10 team...I have to disagree.

St X will be a top 25 team along with Manual..... But they are not a top 10 team. It will be a very interesting District race between Manual, St. X and Male.

Mr Diamond...I do agree that Regions and teams do go into cycles. A perfect example of this is Bullitt East HS. Last year they were in the State tournament and should be the favorite to repeat as Regional Champions. In my opinion, the toughest Region is the 11th from top to bottom ( Lex. Catholic, Lex. Christian, Tates Creek, Madision Central, Dunbar, Henry Clay, Western Hills ). A close second would be the 7th Region ( Trinity, Eastern, Ballard, Male , St.X., Manual, ) Toughest District....43rd Tates Creek, Lexington Catholic, Lexington Christian.

I have to Disagree with you Mr Diamond....6 th region is a very average region at best. There are only a couple teams that might challenge for a region title. PRP and Bullitt East are the front runners...
