Louisville St Xavier 10 Male 8

Tigers get a big 25th district win against the reigning 7th region champs. Not a pretty sight as the the Tigers fall behind 5-1 and come storming back behind Andrew Willinger's bomb. All 3 X pitchers struggled with control as Bulldogs got 9 free passes and 1 HBP. Brandon Allen hit hard by the Tigers but Brandon Gates shut down the Tigers offense late. Tompkins with the win and Clooney with the save. Both teams back at it at Edwards Field at Male on Wednesday.

Not a very good pitched game on both sides.

It appeared as if the Tigers pitchers failed to challenge the Bulldogs hitters....appeared as if they relied on mostly breaking pitches ( change ups, curve balls ). .... Tigers swung the bats pretty well up and down the line up. Dawgs had their chances but couldn't capitalize on the walks and wild pitches./passed balls.

A benchmark game in the Louisville area.

Not a very good pitched game on both sides.

I would agree that it was not overall one of the best played games, but the Tigers showed they could rebound after being down in a hole. They also showed they could win a game with their bats and not just with pitching.
