  1. Teams with great talent can run and beat anybody. Teams that can't match that talent except at maybe 2 or 3 positions can pass and still compete. It doesn't work the other way around...
  2. I'm going with the Commanders. I keep hearing good things about them and that they may suprise some people this year.
  3. 7 - Campbellsville 5 - Tates Creek 3 - Boone County 2 - Henry Clay 1 - Lafayette TB - Tates Creek
  4. How does going for two make you a winner? It makes you a gambler...you rolling the dice on one play instead of giving your kids a chance to make a stop in overtime. If anything it tells your kids that we can't win in overtime, so we better try now and hope we get lucky. Completely wrong message to be sending to your players...
  5. I think it's a bonehead move to go for two. You have all the momentum and X hasn't been able to score or keep you out of the end zone. Tie it up, get a stop, score again and get the win. Desperate call...
  6. Who has Western Hills scrimmaged this year? How'd they do in those games?
  7. Franklin wins going away. Coach Clayton gets to take out all his frustration on his former school that did his top assistant, Steve Lovelace (Head Coach at Christian County who has a state finals appearance and a statewide Coach of the Year to his credit), wrong. I would predict at 30+ point victory for Franklin with Coach Clayton trying to get as many as he can!
  8. 7-Lexington Catholic 5-Central 3-Mercer County 2-East Jessamine 1-Rowan County Lexington Catholic
  9. 5A Madisonville should never lose to a 2A school. They have way too many athletes in that town. I know Murray is good but how do they expect to compete with Owensboro, CC, and Hoptown if they can't handle Murray?
  10. He's still the DC. What difference what he have made that he's not making right now?
  11. I think Johnson Central at 3 is crazy. They are consistently overrated and don't perform in the postseason. I don't see any of that changing this year.
  12. There aren't that many Kentucky teams worty of being on that list. Most states down south have 2 or 3 teams that are better than Kentucky teams, not to mention some other good football states such as Texas and California.
  13. I disagree. JC isn't better that Christian County or Owensboro. I would put them ahead of Pulaski however...
  14. 7 - Boyle County 5 - Bryan Station 3 - Larue County 2 - Harrison County 1 - Tates Creek 1st Tiebreaker Boyle
  15. Lone Oak lost their first game today. They finished 3-6-1 for the tournament.
  16. Lone Oak went 2-4-1 in pool play. They've gone 1-1 in the double elimination tournament. They were seeded #23 out of 32 teams. I don't buy the no 7 on 7 in June. You can still work on your offense for the entire month, and they've had 12 or 13 days since the dead period was over to throw against competition.
  17. I'll take the only team not talked about in that 2A district, Washington County. They added a couple of quality coaches and have a great group sophomores and juniors with a few seniors sprinkled in. If their line can block they have a chance to step up and win not just the district, but maybe the region as well.
  18. I heard the Dunbar coach resigned today and went back to Henderson. He only had 26 players out for football.
  19. Maybe, but if they were going to do that, I don't think they would have opened it up again. They would have just promoted and been done with it.
  20. Agreed. Who's being talked about going into the weekend?
  21. It's a great event. There are national qualifiers hosted across the south throughout the year. Only the 1st place team qualifies. If they have any open slots, it usually helps to be friends with Brandon Shepard (tournament director) to get an at large bid. The school I was at last year went and finished 5th...it's a great event.
