There's no speculation that Rice is leaving Southwestern after next season. But if he does then my next guess would be his assistant Jackie Taylor. She's an excellent person and a very good coach. I think that Rice had the ladies prepared but when they got the 14 point lead they thought that they had the game in the bag and obviously that wasn't the case, they just got careless with the ball. Devin Fothergill's technical foul didn't help any either.

I'll agree that they gave the game away to Mercer County. It was that they just couldn't handle the ball way too many turnovers. I could be wrong here but I think Southwestern has been Region runner up once before I'll have to check into that.

How does Southwestern fold at tournament time? The were Regions runner-up in the 2006-2007 season. And in the past three years they have been in the district finals with none other than Wayne County. And chances are they will be in the finals again next year and maybe in the region finals as well. I'll agree with oldballcoach Monticello is going to make some upsets.

I'm sure Coach Jones took the game serious. As would any other coach. But I thought that the game was a hard fought game for both teams. McCreary had a chance to tie the game but I think it was Adam Swiger (SP) that threw the ball away to a Southwestern defender. Now I will agree that a TO should have been called when he was trapped but that is in the past now and we can't change it.

Two of the best officials in the state! But put them with the wrong crew and your in for a long night. Thank God Mike Black wasn't calling he's the worst official in the state. And for those of you that know Chris Tilley he's alot better than Black!

In the 48th I think it will be a re-match of the past three years that being Southwestern vs Wayne County. Both teams have had pretty much the same roster for the past three years. Always a good hard fought game when these two meet. Probably one of the most rivalry games in the 12th Region IMO.

1. Southwestern 2. Wayne County 3. Lincoln County 4. Rockcastle County 5. Casey County This is my top 5. Now I'm sure that some teams are going to be better than expected but this is my top 5 as of now.

They might not of had the best record in the 12th Region or the 48th District, but there was no quit in the warriors. They might have been the laughing stock of the 12th Region this year but the next three to four years watch out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:flame:

Just because Southwestern only had 4 wins going into that game, doesn't mean that they were some horrible team. Coach Schulz and his staff done one heck of a job this past year. Laugh at them now because for the next three to four years I'm going to guess that the Warriors are going to be regional contenders. If this is the lowest point that they can get they have nowhere else to go but up!!!!!!!!!!! And Congrats to Coach Jones on his 2nd consecutive 12th region COY!!!!!!!!!!

I think that Southwestern's field and facilities are right up there towards the top. I know that Coach Rodney McAninch personally takes care of the field maintaince, the infield is soley bermuda grass and the outfield is just KY 31 fescue. They have a fieldhouse with batting cages and a locker room. It's been awhile since I've been to Pulaski's field but I'm sure Coach Scott McAninch does the same for his field.

Well...looks like Thacker and the Briar Jumpers will be getting ready for next season. So I guess all you beloved Somerset fans are ready for a coaching change since he didn't beat West Jessamine?

I think your 100% correct on this. I think that they started using these breakaway rims so that whenever you had a dunk the backboard wouldn't have to support all the weight of the player. And resulting in a nasty mess.

I've picked Casey to win the 12th way before the district tournaments had even started, so I think that I'll stick with them. Good Luck to both teams.

Oh the upset can happen!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No one thought that Southwestern could beat McCreary Central on their home floor but they did. Now I'm not saying that PC is going to destroy LC, because we all know thats not going to happen. But what I'm saying is that it is very possible for the unthinkable to happen.

Oh i think Pulaski can beat them. They are just going to have to play a flawless game. I think this game will be closer than everyone tends to think, I'm going to say that this game will be decided by less than 5 points. My guess is that this will probably be the best game in the 12th Region this year. IMO.

Thacker loses the 47th District Championship game and you people are ready to fire him, he wins a game in the 12th Region and you want to crown him king. Would you all make up your mind as to what you all want to do with him?

Just my opinion, but I think that Dustin Wells from Wayne County should be included in here IMO.
