  1. The 61st district tourney should be a good one !!! Any team could win it...
  2. Good article about Rowan Co. Morrison scoring perfect on ACT's by Mike Fields http://www.kentucky.com/289/story/693469.html
  3. Wow... Looks like the 61st district will be fun to watch
  4. Great game by both teams... A really enjoyable game to watch. Congrats RC
  5. Try this site if you would like to know more: http://www.bigbluehistory.net/bb/NorthSouth/kelly_coleman.html
  6. Kelly Coleman played 127 games in a 4 year career, which would be 31 or 32 games a year.... That's not that uncommon if you make it deep in the state touney, for example Mason Co. record last year 34-4
  7. Per KHSAA site: INDIVIDUAL Most Points Scored - Career (Min. 3,000) # Player (School) Years 4,337 Kelly Coleman (Wayland) 1953-56 3,647 Charlie Osborne (Flat Gap) 1953-57 3,567 Harry Todd (Earlington) 1955-58 3,542 Chris Harrison (Tollesboro) 1987-91 3,365 Charles Thomas (Harlan) 1990-95 3,325 Clem Haskins (Taylor Co.) 3,300 Ty Rogers (Lyon Co.) 1998-04 3,233 Fred Hale (Williamstown) N/A 3,228 Ervin Stepp (Phelps) 1977-80 3,226 Manual Forrest (Moore) 1977-81 3,202 Todd Conley (Elkhorn City) 1991-94 3,219 Nelson White (Powell Co.) 1951-55 What's impressive about this list, is the top 3 players did not have the 3-point shot.... Does anyone know how many three's Ferguson has in his career??? Just wondering how he would compare with the top three on this list..
  8. They made it to the final four and were beat by eventual champion Carr Creek....If my memory is correct, they split games in regular season games. He had some descent players to help him...
  9. King Kelly, was from the 15th region.. If you are talking statewide he would most definitely be in the mix
  10. Coach Thacker seems to be closing the gap on some teams... Might be a tough out for anyone come tourney time
  11. I say put numbers 2, 3 & 4 in a hat and draw
  12. I have several moments in which Somerset made runs at the championship, finishing runner-up three times. Several games were decided in the last seconds of the games. In 2001 they hit a last second shot to beat Fort Knox to send them to the first championship game, in which they lost to Glasgow. Another was when they were down by something like 17 at the half against Newport Central Catholic, went to a triangle in one to shut down Catholic scoring and made a last second shot to win the game... Coach Thacker and his Somerset teams were always a tough out at he "all A" and made some very memorable moments at the "All A".... Rowan Co. is lucky to have him as their coach. Give him time to develop his players and he will be a force in the 16th region
  13. :thumb: I agree... Rabbit Ears are not good for an official of any sport, especially when it is a fan with remarks.... Just ignore the fan and concentrate on the game and be consistent.
  14. Good game to watch... Rowan is starting to put it together... This District will be wide open
  15. Congrats Vikings.... I understand the Morrison kid, who had 23 pts against Fleming did not play in this game for the Vikings.. It seems as if both teams were missing key players
  16. How many juniors and seniors will be on the team?
  17. With Thacker coming to Rowan, it will be interesting to see if he can come to the court with a team that will be competitive. Change may be good for both the Vikings and Briar Jumpers
  18. Should be an interesting year for the Vikings
  19. My sources tell me that it is a done deal.... as Don Daniel will be the new coach at Somerset
  20. I agree :thumb:... the future looks bright with some of the young talent....
