Rowan County 73 Raceland 58

Congrats to Rowan on the win. Hopefully someone can give us some details on this one.

Raceland falls to 0-2 on the young season, is imo going to take some time for the football players that just finished a late playoff run to get going and get their "basketball" legs under them. Hoppefully they will be looking better by the Raceland "Derby Classic" Tournament.

They will be fine in a week

Raceland was without one of it's two seniors, Tyler Boyles, had a stomach flue and could not even make the trip.

This was a sloppy game, I don't have the numbers, but there were around 100 turnovers by both teams. A lot of missed, wide open, shots by both teams.

I think both teams will do better later in the season. Raceland I know will. Coach Floyd is getting a lot of players playing experience, trying to build some experience. I think Raceland will do well later in the season, but for now, they are just working on becoming a basketball team.

Congrats Vikings.... I understand the Morrison kid, who had 23 pts against Fleming did not play in this game for the Vikings.. It seems as if both teams were missing key players

Its going to take a while for the Rams to get things rollin'...

Don't get too excited yet, Ram fans. Coach Floyd will have them rolling in a few weeks.:ylsuper:

As was Rowan. Morrison who nearly had a double/double against Fleming, was out for disciplinary reasons. Don't know Raceland's numbers, but it wasn't quite that bad for RC. 15 TO's, 46% from the field. Ginter had 25, junior Cody Hunter, coming off 3 knee surgeries in 2 yrs., had 13 and 10. Raceland shot it well from the FT line (21/27) or it could have been even uglier.

I wasn't comparing the the two starters that were missing, I understand that Rowan was without one also. I was more or less just saying that Raceland is very young this year. No excuses, Rowan deserved to win and did.

Raceland has two seniors, one has never played basketball before, he is a good athlete, but still never played. The other was out will the flue. Raceland has two juniors, both played, and the rest of the team is 9-10 graders. It is going to take time for them to mature.

Rowan returns only Duff with any varsity experience. Ginter played very little varsity last year, and neither did Morrison. After that, Rowan plays one freshman starter, and freshmen and sophomores off the bench. Stafford hasn't played in 2 years and Hunter has had 3 knee surgeries in less than 2 years. Point being, Rowan is as young as anybody in the region in terms of experience.

Now Ginter had minutes from last year. Pretty good minutes if i can recall. So did Sargent. What is line-up for Rowan? 3 seniors, 1 junior and a freshman?
