I'm referring to major injury and possibly career ending. Since there's no such thing as a 4yr scholarship it takes a pretty classy coach that will honor for 4yrs. My point is, it never hurts to put a coach on the spot with a simple question "Coach, will you honor 4yrs if I get injured?"...simple stuff man. I know for a fact some won't and the "free" education is huge. Since women's pro basketball is not lucrative the "degree is the key". You seem to be in the know, so if you know a host of others that will give a scholarship to a player that can't perform, great! However, if it comes from an AAU coach, then I'll take it with a grain of salt.

If they are that close I would encourage her to be bold and ask Amanda point blank "if I get injured during competitive play will you still honor my 4yr scholarship?".
