  1. Are there any concerns with Title 9? If like $$$ need to be spent on womens spots, WOW!
  2. OK, tit for tat, and if you want I could come with alot more. In this breif period I have again received several more emails talking about someones desire not to help. I trust these PMs as they have plenty of info on things that I know to be facts about the program. So talking lowly, no. Stating facts, yes. After all, if you work in Wurtland couldn't you make it to Greenup to work on the field?
  3. You failed to address the part about Mr. Rister failing too help out (via my PM and several other posts). So you are in fact defending him while at the same time condemning him for not taking action. Remember, it was just the other day that he took action after sitting on the sideline (so to speak) for 2 years.
  4. Apparently people do not read posts completely because I stated that the facility has been in disrepair for some time. Honestly, I would like to see the whole thing bulldozed and rebuilt and I wish this would have happened many, many years ago. Had this occurred just think of the kids that could have benefited. My issue is that his concerns could (and should) have been voiced at an earlier time.
  5. As I stated the creed has been lost since Greenup's glory days. The self-serving comment was directed at the "sudden" interest in the facilities. If I am correct, Mr. Rister has a son that has been at Greenup for 2 years already. Why bring up the facility now and not 1 or 2 years ago when your son started to play. Come on people, be proactive. Don't just start painting, cleaning or showing any interest when your kid may play. Take interest and participate when or even before your child is on the team. That is what winning programs have, a level of participation before, during and after a family members playing days.
  6. Let me begin by saying that I do not have a child in the Greenup School system nor do I live in the area, but do still feel that Greenup is and always will be my home. I agree with the fact that the football complex is in a horrid state of disrepair. But this should not come as surprise to anyone as the only "improvements" that have occurred over the past 10 to 20 years were the replacement of some of the wood in the bleachers and maybe the blacktop placed under the bleachers. Now, the thought of repair or improvements to the facilities or even a new complex would be a wise move and a tempting one for a new prospective coach. But he too will fail as evidenced by the quote from above . . . I say this because the creed of the Musketeers has been locked away since their early success on the gridiron and I feel possibly lost forever. To refresh those of you who are not familiar with this saying, it is quite simple and to the point; "All For One and One For All". This goes for the players on the field, the students at the school and the fans and parents in the stands. While I appreciate Mr. Rister's presentation, I do feel it is somewhat self-serving and would simply ask why not make the same effort 1 or 2 years ago.
  7. From what I can gather he was held back and didn't start school when he should have so the discussion of athleticism and his plateauing may have some legs here.
  8. This is a very interesting GC team, first series moved the ball to LCCs 20 in less than 2 min. A snap over the QBs head however stopped the series. The defense then actually stepped up and had LCC punt, only to have the punt humbled and LCC score a few plays later. GC then again drove the length and scored but LCC came right back and scored again and again and again (to may agains to continue). What I see besides the lack of tackling on D is a team that just humps up like a beat dog once they get smacked in the mouth. If they don't want to get beat by 40 every game they just need to get down right mean on D. To borrow a movie line "hit 'em so hard they blow snot bubbles".
  9. Don't be selfish guys, let us all in on the joke.
  10. Hope? Hope for what 1 win, a winning season, a district championship, etc. Please elaborate.
  11. What is going on in Lloyd, haven't heard anything in some time?
  12. That's a tall order and I would think the QBs at Raceland, Lawerence, Boyd and Ashland would have something to say about that.
  13. It has got to be about the money. Say your team plays the first Thursday morning game and you win. Conventional wisdom says that you just stay around and watch the second game to see who you face on Friday (same with the night session). This cost you $7. Now look at it from a KHSAA perspective, you pay $7 to watch the first game and you win. You really want to watch the second game so you come back that night and pay another $7. Will alot of people do this, I don't know but you have to admit it is a pretty slick move.
  14. If this kid is that tough, why isn't he playing on the varsity? I know in the past they have had 8th graders on the team.
  15. I say Lex Cath throws their #2 vs HC, overlooks LC/GC winner and throws their #1 and they save the big boy for PRP. But who knows, Lex Cath has the advantage as they play last and can adjust via the outcomes of the 3 previous games.
  16. To begin with not too many games have an hour and a hlf delay and then are played to 7 innings (3 of which were in a good drizzle/rain), so were both teams at the top of their games - no. As for the 15th tearing up the 16th, I believe GC and LC split this year.
  17. Again poor point, why would anyone from Greenup have a bad taste in their mouth? They were at Applebee's, all the others were sitting at home.
  18. Hey baseball boy, why some "glass half full"? Besides when the big boys come out you can either get the ball off, out run them or just hit'em back. Correct me if I'm wrong but would you consider using a pitching machine a waste of time? REMEMBER, WHEN THAT BIG BOY IS ON THE MOUND AND YOU HAVE TO LOOK INTO HIS EYES, HOW WILL YOU DO?
  19. Should that happen (and it will only be happening for athletic reasons), I hope the young men enjoy 1 year of rest because they won't be playing next year.
  20. Not to mention a bogus block in the back that cost GC a TD. Additionally, GC executed a much better game plan.
  21. Are you talking about Ohio State camp or a Nike camp at OSU?
  22. Correct a verbal commitment by a player is not a binding contract. There may be 10 to 15 verbal commitments and if a school only has 2 or 3 scholarships to give out then it is the school who decides who gets them. That is why you get guys that are preferred walk-ons.
