At Montgomery County we had tennis players start as early as fourth grade. Addressing the initial question I only have a problem with juniors playing jv when they don't play hardly any jv all year because they play varsity but the coach decides to suit them up in the post season. I think there is a jv district tournament, is this correct?

I think Mack is a legit Mr. B-ball candidate. If I was picking guys to be on my team I would pick Mack and Novasel. They are smart kids who play very hard and they are winners.

Speaking of Maxpreps I like their state rankings, they are pretty accurate. By the way is the MCHS for Montgomery Co. or Madison Central?

11th and 7th are the toughest. The 4th, 12th, and 13th seem to be the easiest (as far as not having any top teams).

Also can someone please explain what happened in the Henry Clay/ Scott Co. game? I wanted to go but couldn't. That score just puzzles me. Did Henry Clay play out of their mind? Did Scott Co. play terrible?

Station is the hottest team in the state. The Cardianls did something the Defenders couldn't do (beat Mason Co.) but I believe Station has come along way since that loss to start the year. It is interesting that the Cardianls squeked by a team less than a week ago (Henry Clay by 4) that Bryan Statin beat by a combined 67 points in two games. Also Henry Clay had their best player in Victor Moses in both of the Station games but I don't think he played in the Scott Co. game. That shows how dominate Station has been recently!

My brother and I do a top 25 poll every Sunday. When I get my hands on it I may post it. It is pretty close to the BGP poll.

Agreed. I don't know why playing Mason Co. fairly close in Maysville caused the Indians to drop out.

Also Shelby Valley should be higher, they beat Male this season, return 5 starters from a team that made Rupp last year and have only 1 instate loss.

Good points Lion Mania... GRC's high ranking continues to amaze me. Madison Central and Ballard are also too high. UHA is a borderline top 10 team, they should be ranked. I think Bryan Station is playing amazing right now and should be ranked at least #2.

This one is really good! Here is mine: 1. Shelby Valley 2. Elliott Co. 3. UHA 4. June Buchanan 5. Paintsville 6. Hazard 7. Lou Holy Cross #1, #2 and #4 were at Rupp last year and Valley and Elliott return all 5 starters plus JBS returns at least 4 starters. Shelby Valley tops my list because of their win over KOB champ Male. Of course Elliott beat Valley in Rupp last year so they could have an arguement at #1 as well. UHA is great team with a top ten player in the nation according to rivals.com and another great player in Edmonson. They have wins over Tates Creek, Adair Co., Madison Central and they lost to Male by two points. Hazard beat a good Montgomery Co. team this year and played June Buchanan close. Holy Cross beat PRP for crying out loud, they have to be pretty good!

Was it David Stanley? There were two Stanley's but David was the starter last year. If he quit they are in trouble.

I know Trinity is a solid team but Ballard has been a pretty big disappointment this year after starting off ranked preseason top 5. I haven't seen them play this season. What is the problem? Do they have a leader out there?

I think the key to beating the Royals is to get Miller in foul trouble. Going at him on the inside and trying to draw a charge on him when the Royals have the ball. If that occurs in the regional tournament Mason may be sitting at home during the sweet 16 just like last year.

Scott County has done nothing this year to make me think they will win the game in Maysville. They lost early in the year to Ballard, they barely beat a Henry Clay team that Bryan Station beat by around 30 points twice (Mason beat Bryan Station earlier in the year). They also have lost to six or seven out of state teams (I will admit they are good teams) by double digits almost every time. I belive people are giving the Cardianls too much credit based on past seasons. They lost 60% of their starting lineup including their two best players (Walls and Mackey) and a lockdown defender (Jimmie Warren). Who is going to be their goto leader this year? Other top ranked teams have one. Can someone give me a reason why Scott County should be ranked in the top 5 or even top 10? Do they have any quality in state wins agaisnt any top 15 teams? Mason County should win by double digits.

Whatever happended to Josh Nelson for Holmes? I haven't seen his name in a boxscore all year.

The only time I can remember the finals being sold out was when Pendleton made the finals. They brought a ton of fans. No disrespect to Pendleton but I don't think they will be in the finals this year so I believe there won't be a huge problem with capacity.

Moses was injured during the KOB games but not the 2 blowouts to Station. I've seen Scott Co. ranked ahead of Station in a few polls. That is crazy! I think Station would beat Scott Co. pretty good. Anyway I should I have attended this game. I was going to but I thought Henry Clay would lose by at least 10.
