kysportsfan4life Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Final. Darius in foul trouble the whole game and he only played around 16 minutes. He fouls out with 6:08 to play in the ball game and has only 5 points. 3 of the starters foul out of the game. Many fouls were called on both ends, as the refs seemed a little whistle-happy. Mason County did a poor job on free-throw shooting tonight, and that could have made a huge difference had they hit them. They missed 8 in a row in the 3rd quarter as Scott Co. was trying to pull away. 47 fouls in the game. 24 for SC, 23 for MC. Farris with 23 points for SC. 5-11 from the field, 13-15 from the FT line. Gwen with 16. Portwood with 14. Adams with 8. Lee with 6. Middleton with 20. Setty - 10 King - 14 Downing - 7 Pawsat - 6 Miller - 5 Tolle - 2
kysportsfan4life Posted January 12, 2008 Author Posted January 12, 2008 A bit overrated perhaps? I wouldn't say that when you played without your star player for over half of the game.
el gato Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Uncharacteristic of a Bluegrass crew to call that many fouls in a game involving two really good teams.
kysportsfan4life Posted January 12, 2008 Author Posted January 12, 2008 22-53, 41.5%, Scott County. 20-54, 37% Mason County. Mason County shoots 56.3% from the FT line. MC with 21 turnovers.
kysportsfan4life Posted January 12, 2008 Author Posted January 12, 2008 Uncharacteristic of a Bluegrass crew to call that many fouls in a game involving two really good teams. I know, it seemed that every play there was a foul called.
el gato Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I wouldn't say that when you played without your star player for over half of the game. Not saying they shouldn't be top 5, just not sure they are #1 right now the way they are playing. That's their second double digit loss to an 11th region team. At this point in the season, they should be ranked beind Scott Co. and Lex. Cath.
kysportsfan4life Posted January 12, 2008 Author Posted January 12, 2008 This may be true, but as I said, Miller played very sparingly in this game. So many things went wrong for Mason... it was just a tough game for them. But I'm sure they will bounce back, as Coach O'Hearn said, and come tournament time they will remember these losses, and they should be ready to play.

That's their second double digit loss to an 11th region team. At this point in the season, they should be ranked behind Scott Co. and Lex. Cath. I made the trip from northern ky, was not impressed with the Mason Co Team. Scott County has a very good bench. look like maybe a 12-17 team in the state not Number 1.
knightsdad Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I predict they get well real quick tomorrow against Centennial Ga. @ LexCath. Centennial had a lot of trouble with RoseHill tonight winning by a bucket.
KHSB1 Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 I said earlier in the prediction post. Scott co's size would cause problems. Pharres and Lee of course are not as athletic as Miller but they can score and when Miller hit the pine, Scott Co scored whenever they wanted in the third quarter. The Cardinals have alot of weapons as we saw tonight.
MEERCAT MANNOR Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Seen the Royals for the First time. Looked like a very tight called game. To many whistles. Both team play very good defense. Just looked like Scott was wanting the game alot more than Mason Co.
kysportsfan4life Posted January 12, 2008 Author Posted January 12, 2008 Mason County playing very sloppy as of late. They better fix that quick, or it could be a long 2nd half of the season for them.
Wireman Posted January 12, 2008 Posted January 12, 2008 Ouch. They're not the top team in the state at this point.

Alot of cheap fouls on Mason Co. I'm not saying thats what lost Mason Co the game. The Royals missed 2 easy layups. Also alot of missed freethrows. On a bright note Neal Pawsatt a 9th Grader played very good.
