mhighfield Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Looks like HC come to play.Didnt they just loose to Bryan Station by like 25.
HOMELESS CAMEL Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Looks like HC come to play.Didnt they just loose to Bryan Station by like 25. Yep, on December 22nd, they lost to Station by 32. They also lost to Station on December 11th by 35. Their other losses to Ballard and Adair Co were also by 20 plus. Granted 11th region is brutal and Scott Co is going to get everyone's best shot.
bigblueinsanity Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 SC beats the 7th best team by 4! Wow...though the 11th Region is Stacked. Really thought SC would take this game by more. But a Win's a Win.
thewaterboy Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Anyone at the game? I am taking it that Scott's guard play was suspect, not a nice welcome home for Geuyn (sp?)
mcpapa Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 The margin is a surprise. As always, I'd want to know if it was close throughout. Anyone have any stats on this one?
thegame523 Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Yep, on December 22nd, they lost to Station by 32. They also lost to Station on December 11th by 35. Were any of these bad losses at home, or all on the road or neutral courts?
mcpapa Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 According to Riherd's, the 35-point loss to Station was home, the 32-point loss to Station was away, the 20-point loss to Male was at Fairdale and the 25-point loss to Adair County was at Fairdale. So I guess one at home, one away and two on neutral courts.
westsider Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Some of those losses, including the ones at King of the Bluegrass, were when the Blue Devils were without injured star Victor Moses.
Plato Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 I've heard that with the tough schedule, some of Scott Co.'s players aren't playing with as much confidence. This is a quality district win on the road for them. I bet they're glad to be back in the state. They'll have to play better than this to have a shot at Mason Co. on Friday.
Trojans Posted January 9, 2008 Posted January 9, 2008 Moses was injured during the KOB games but not the 2 blowouts to Station. I've seen Scott Co. ranked ahead of Station in a few polls. That is crazy! I think Station would beat Scott Co. pretty good. Anyway I should I have attended this game. I was going to but I thought Henry Clay would lose by at least 10.
gswilder Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 I thought Henry Clay played one of their better games of the year. Especially in the first half. Their press worked very good early. Guards had a lot of turnovers. If Henry Clay had hit better from outside, they should have been up 7-8 at the half. HC let Scott get a run on them in the 3rd and got down by double digits. This happened when Moses went down again in the 3rd and did not return to the game. They hustled back and had the lead mid-way through the 4th. Scott's last 11 points were all from the free throw line to win by 4. Aaron Boyd got his 1000th point in basketball last night. All of Henry Clay's losses have been to top 15 teams. Unfortunately, other than last night, all the losses have been blowouts. They are very senior laden with 7 or 8 seniors. Hardly any juniors or seniors. But they have probably one of the top 5 freshmen teams in the state. And with 4 of 5 senior starters graduating, this group will get 3 years of varsity time. Their freshman team has only lost 1 game this season. Their JV is a couple of sophmore/juniors, but it is mostly the freshman team plays JV. I think 3 freshman start for JV. And JV has only lost 1 game, including a buzzer beater by Scott last night. 3 of their freshmen started for the freshman team last year as 8th graders. Brandon Wilder, Justin Henderson, and Trae Stewart. Henry Clay will have a tough time next year, but by the time these freshmen become juniors, they will have a very very good team. Of course, their district and region is tough.
westsider Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 There were rumblings that Aaron Boyd wasn't playing this year, and I'm thinking that I saw a Henry Clay boxscore that was missing his name. Anyone know what happened with that?
goldenrule19 Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Scott County was thinking Mason County game Friday! They did not play well and won the game anyway. Plus Ge'lawn Guyn was playing his old team, So the pressure was all over his face the first half. Made up for it in the 2th half with 14 points and finish with 16 and 3 steals 2 blocks 2 turnover and 4 fouls. Remember he started power forward for Henry Clay last year. this is his first year at point guard, Ge'lawn is still learning. Lucky he has two more years left at Scott County.:dancingpa
sidelinecoach Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Anyone at the game? I am taking it that Scott's guard play was suspect, not a nice welcome home for Geuyn (sp?) I said before the season started if they had a weakness it would this along with leadership. They turn over the ball quite a lot.
strongopenyon Posted January 10, 2008 Posted January 10, 2008 Aaron missed the Rose Hill game while he took his official visit to UK. He will, undoubtedly, miss more games in January as he goes on his recruiting tour.
