Scott County was thinking Mason County game Friday! They did not play well and won the game anyway. Plus Ge'lawn Guyn was playing his old team, So the pressure was all over his face the first half. Made up for it in the 2th half with 14 points and finish with 16 and 3 steals 2 blocks 2 turnover and 4 fouls. Remember he started power forward for Henry Clay last year. this is his first year at point guard, Ge'lawn is still learning. Lucky he has two more years left at Scott County.:dancingpa

G'lawn is not a point guard, yet. You are right in that he is making progress because point guard is where he would project to play at the next level. He is lucky that he has a coach in Billy Hicks who recognizes that for his players.

 

What I do love about G'lawn's game is that he will dig in and flat play some serious defense, unlike many other players.

 

Scott County is not there, yet, but they seem to be a team who will have the chance to greatly improve by tournament time.

First Scott County team must play like a team. Each player has to know there role and what they can do on the court. The point guard has to run the team and be the QB out on the floor. Ge'lawn must get better in order to make that run at the State Tournament.

 

But I think Scott County will win by 8. Two Mason County starter are sick with the flu and has missed 3 day of school. :creepy:

After Mason County game, next up Bryan Station they press the whole game! That game is one that Scott County does not match up with in anyway shape or form. Bryan Station Starts 4 point guard and a Center.

I love Henry Clay's JV team. Lost to Scott County on a last sec. shot by 8th grader Manning.

I read where Moses broke his foot during the game and is out 4 - 6 weeks. I would think this was a factor in the game. I have a lot of respect for Scott County. There is still a lot of talent and good coaching. However, I believe it is not realistic to take the two best players off of a team, introduce a player from a different system, and expect the same results immediately. They came close to finding this out in this game.
