  1. Mac McLung the same kid Coach Schooler at Fern Creek told he wouldn’t see the floor in college......in the middle of a game.
  2. Just interesting in general. Chill out I’m not saying anything about the injury. I would never wish that on any kid. Sounds like Cooper dominated from the tip I was expecting it to be closer then it was even before the injury. Not everyone is out to be negative!
  3. I know this might offend some people but its just my opinion. Its different in the 11th then anywhere else. Bottom line teams in the 11th see speed and athleticism every night, so playing a team like this isnt a huge deal. Congrats to LCA.
  4. I said it earlier in this thread being facetious. You just have to go on Facebook and check out some videos on the state of the black devils to find the stuff.
  5. Im on the same page as you! Really just re-read what I said!
  6. I think people are missing my attempt at humor here. Look, I get it Kelsch is a passionate guy and wants to win and blah, blah, blah. But don't get on social media or around people and bash other programs in the region or state. You have more transfers then ANYONE in the region with Bourbon a close second. We don't see anyone on here ripping on that but a bigger school in the region gets one and its time to talk. Get serious. Everyone wants to win. I enjoy 10th Region basketball its super competitive, tons of different styles, great players, and great coaches, BUT it is full of petty people. It's really sad. Anyway, I'm off my soapbox good luck to everyone in the 10th and the coaching legacy they want to leave.
  7. Never happened!!! You need to subscribe to the weekly state of the Black Devils address!!! The truth shall set you free!!
  8. Robertson has arrived just ask the Black Devil Nation!!! Nobody comes to Devil Dome and survives!
  9. Im rolling with KC. The defense has been AWFUL but if you watched the 1st half against the Chargers Thursday, Eric Berry made a significant difference. He only played the 1st half due to restrictions on playing time coming off an injury. I read where he had to change the defensive secondary formation on 75% of the plays he was in. The Chargers had 7 points at the half. Also, I think losing that game will make it harder for the Chargers to beat KC if they play again in the playoffs. Face it though Im a HUGE KC fan so I got to roll with my guys. The disappointment is coming I am prepared for it!!
  10. Scrap and Bones Joyce. No, that isn't their real name but what they go by. They were both at Frederick Douglass last year. Athletic guards and good defenders. Definitely improved the Colonels depth and skill level.
  11. They will run into some competition at the Beach Ball Classic in South Carolina I’m sure.
  12. I would say its between Paris, Robertson County, and Bishop Brossart.
  13. For as much national media attention Baker Mayfield gets the key to the Browns turn around has been the defense and the running game. Mayfield didnt put up great numbers in this game but hes the lead story. Gotta love the way ESPN and other sports networks push their ratings.
  14. At this point in the season the only thing certain about the 11th Region is it seems everyone is playing for 2nd place!! Just when you think you have a solid #2 team things go crazy this week and the argument can be made you could put 10 teams in a hat and pull them out randomly to rank 2-12 in this crazy region! Lets get to the nonsense that ensued this past week. Team Rankings 1. Scott County (7-0) - The Cardinals continue to mow down opponents early in the season. This past week they did get a decent test at Lexington Catholic but prevailed by 16 and then ended the week by blasting a struggling Bryan Station by 45 points!! Michael Moreno and Diablo Stewart are leading the Cardinals with the best supporting cast probably in the state. This week Scott County hosts Oldham County, Lafayette, and Fern Creek. All of which are quality opponents but nothing I have seen makes me think any of them will challenge the machine that is the Cardinals right now!! 2. Lexington Christian Academy (6-1) - The Eagles picked up a win early in the week over PLD to move them to 2-0 in the always tough 43rd District and then ended the week with a win at Boyle County. In the victory over Boyle County, Kyle Rode passed current San Diego Padre manager Andy Green as the all time leading scorer in school history. Congrats to Kyle!! This week LCA heads to Louisville for the prestigious King of the Bluegrass where they face off with University Heights and KyKy Tandy in the first round. Should be a big week for the Eagles. 3. Frankfort (5-2) - What a week for the Panthers!! Two big wins over previous #2 Henry Clay and a district win over rival Franklin County. Senior guard Juanya Frank poured in 30 points to lead Frankfort over the Blue Devils. The Panthers improved to 2-0 in the district with a big win over Franklin County on Friday night. This week the Panthers host Boyle County before hitting the road to Western and Boone County. 4. Henry Clay (6-2) - A tough week for our previous #2 team. To start the week the Blue Devils blew an early 12 point lead at Frankfort and then fell on the road to a good Ballard team on Friday before bouncing back with a win Saturday over Paris. This week the Blue Devils host the People's Exchange Bank Holiday Invitational where they matchup with Great Falls, South Carolina in the first round. 5. Woodford County (6-1) - The Jackets continue to climb the rankings and could be higher if not for a head scratching loss at home to an improving Tates Creek team over the weekend. Early in the week Woodford went to GRC and won in convincing fashion then throttled Madison Southern before falling to Tates Creek to end the week. This week the Yellow Jackets host Ashland and St. Xavier. 6. Lexington Catholic (3-5) - The Knights started the week off giving Scott County their closest game to date and then went on the road to Clay County and lost by 2 on a foul call at the end. Shocking for something like that to happen right This week the Knights head to Las Vegas for the Tarkanian Classic against some stellar competiton. 7. Paul Laurence Dunbar (3-3) - The Bulldogs dropped their only game of the week against LCA in a low scoring close typical 43rd District game. The Bulldogs have been off or an extended period of time but start up again this week in the Peoples Exchange Bank Holiday Invitational at Henry Clay with a first round matchup against Butler. 8. Madison Central (4-3) - The Indians finished the week 2-0 with wins over Pulaski County and Christian County. Big man Isaiah Cozart had a nice week including a triple double of 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 10 blocks in the victory over Pulaski County. Up next the Indians hit the road to Louisville for the King of the Bluegrass where they face off with Walton Verona in a matchup of the two best big men in the state of Kentucky. Should be a competitive week for Madison Central. 9. Tates Creek (5-3) - The Commodores are another team that continue to climb the rankings. Tates Creek finished 2-1 on the week. They dropped a close one to Lafayette to begin the week but closed it out strong with wins over Frederick Douglass and Woodford County. Coach Gay has the Commodores playing well. This week they head to the Smoky Mountain Classic in Gatlinburg, Tennessee to face off with North Laurel in the first round. 10. Lafayette (3-4) - The Generals finished the week 1-1 with a close win at Tates Creek and a loss at South Oldham. An argument can be made that you could flip #9 and #10 but at this point I think Tates Creek is playing better and the Generals have lost 4 of 5. Either way these two are neck and neck at this point. This week the Generals head to Scott County and then particpate in the Clash of the Titans at Mercer County where they face Somerset in the first round. 11. Frederick Douglass (3-4) - The Broncos finish the week 1-2 with a close win over struggling Bryan Station and losses to Tates Creek and Castle out of Indiana. Early season momentum seems to have hit a wall at Douglass and they seem to be searching for an identity. This week the Broncos host St. Xavier in their only game of the week. 12. Franklin County (4-4) - The Flyers finished the week 3-1 but lost the biggest game on their schedule in an important district seeding game against Frankfort. At 0-2 in the district its gonna be tough for them to grab the ever important 1 seed. They picked up wins over Nelson County Paris and Trimble County with relative ease. This week the Flyers head to Eastern before traveling to Harrison County for the Huck Turner Tip Off Classic where they face hosts Harrison County in the opening round. 13. Madison Southern (4-4) - The Eagles split this past week 1-1 with a win over Jackson County and a blowout loss at Woodford County. The Eagles are what they are, they beat the teams they should and really dont compete against any decently tough team. This week the Eagles head to the M&W Shootout in Pulaski County where they face off with Southwestern to begin the event. 14. Bryan Station (0-7) - Just a year ago Bryan Station was undefeated and a top 5 team in the state. What a difference a year makes. The Defenders remain winless on the season this past week with losses to Frederick Douglass and Scott County. The schedule gets no easier this week as they head to Pendleton County for the Phillip Wood Classic where they face Cooper, Pendleton County, and St. Henry. Im afraid the Defenders may finish the 2018 section of their schedule without a victory. 15. Model (4-4) - The Patriots finish the week 2-1 with victories over Brown and Frankfort Christian but fell to East Jessamine. This week Model heads to the Sayre School Jim Lankster Classic and will face Harlan, Belfry, and Sayre. 16. Sayre (1-5) - The Spartans picked up their first win of the season this past week at Western Hills but dropped a close road game at Louisville Holy Cross. This week Sayre hosts the Sayre School Jim Lankster Classic and will face Harlan, Belfry, and Model. 17. Western Hills (1-5) - Another winless week for the Wolverines as they lost home games to Spencer County and Sayre. Not sure when this program will ever turn any corner in the right direction. This week Western Hills hosts Danville and heads to Knott County Central. 18. Berea (4-3) - The Pirates dropped games to Pineville and Calvary Christian this week. They face off with Owen County in the opening round of the Berea Invitational Tournament this week. Games of the Week This week region teams play in some big time pre Christmas tournaments. Check out the following events: King of the Bluegrass - Fairdale High School Peoples Choice Bank Holiday Invitational - Henry Clay High School
  15. Is he the best player in the state right now?? Honest question. He’s legit. I’m just making conversation here. David Johnson is really good but has a different role for his team.
  16. I dont think anyone is trying to run anything up and I dont think anyone is 'stat chasing." My opinion though play a better schedule but thats just me. I know Robertson is a district game I get that. They have played GRC which is a top region team. Playing Marshall County is not really a real deal MC Hoopfest game to me. Play in the KOB, play other big time events. Allen is good enough to put up impressive numbers against anyone. Bottom line you cant please everyone no matter what you do. As for Robertson County.........PLAY A BETTER SCHEDULE before you want people to crown you whatever it is you think you should be crowned.
  17. Someone check on the state of the Black Devils address. Goodness!!
  18. Another crazy week in the 11th Region with some entertaining and interesting inter region match ups. The only thing certain about the 11th right now is their is a unanimous #1 and a pretty solid #2, after that I'm not sure you couldn't put #3 - #10 in a hat and draw them out anyway you want to. Once again a lot of moving and shaking in the middle of the pack. Team Rankings 1. Scott County (5-0) - Another week another set of big wins for the Cardinals. Both games were dominant performances with a 38 point win at LCA and a 42 point win over Frederick Douglass. Michael Moreno continues to show why hes one of the best players in the state and his supporting cast is full of good players. Also, Glenn Covington is expected to be back this week just to make the cards deeper. This week the Cardinals face off with rival Lexington Catholic on the road and then host Bryan Station to end the week. 2. Henry Clay (5-0) - The Blue Devils have cemented themselves as the solid #2 in the region thus far. This week Henry Clay picked up wins over Eastern and Scott High with another set of great performances from Marquez Warrick. The kid is a star and probably one of the most underrated players in the state, he just keeps putting up numbers. This week the Blue Devils hit the road to Frankfort and Ballard before coming home to host Paris. Some good tests for Henry Clay this week. 3. Woodford County (4-0) - The Yellow Jackets continue to impress with two blowout wins over district opponents Western Hills and Franklin County this week to give them an early edge for the 1 seed in the 41st. Brandon Cromwell and Anthony Tabor lead the attack for Coach Wilson as they look to keep improving. This week Woodford County travels to GRC in what should be a real good game, then hosts Madison Southern and Tates Creek to end the week. 4. Lexington Christian Academy (4-1) - The week started off great for LCA with a big win at Tates Creek but they ran into a buzz saw with Scott County two days later. Kyle Rode continues to impress doing it all for the Eagles. A big week coming as they head to Paul Laurence Dunbar and Boyle County. 5. Lexington Catholic (3-3) - After struggling to start the season the Knights picked up a couple wins this week over Model and Paul Laurence Dunbar before falling to Beechwood on a last second shot. The win over Dunbar was huge as far as the district seeding goes and included an off balance fade away 3 from Ben Johnson as time was running out to seal the deal for the Knights. This week the Knights host Scott County before heading to Clay County for a tough road game. 6. Paul Laurence Dunbar (3-2) - The Bulldogs brutal schedule to start the season continued this week as they picked up a close win over Lafayette before falling by 1 to Lexington Catholic in a low scoring grind it out game. Another big district matchup with LCA this week before the Bulldogs take a long break. 7. Frederick Douglass (2-2) - The Broncos finished 1-1 on the week with a win at East Jessamine before running into Scott County and falling hard. Two city games this week as FDHS heads to Bryan Station and Tates Creek. Should help sort out some of the rankings within the city of Lexington with those. 8. Madison Central (2-2) - The Indians finished the week 1-1 with a tough loss at GRC and a nice home win over Somerset. The schedule gets no easier for the Indians as they head to Collins and Pulaski County this week before hosting Christian County this weekend. 9. Tates Creek (3-2) - For the first time since early in the 2014-15 season the Commodores have a winning record. Also, they picked up their first win over a Lexington Public school in over 4 years when they defeated Bryan Station this past week. They also won at Bourbon County this weekend. Some tests this week as Tates Creek hosts Lafayette and Frederick Douglass. 10. Lafayette (2-3) - A tough week for the Generals losing 3 straight to Dunbar, Simon Kenton, and Waggener. Our #3 team last week they drop all the way #10. Are they the tenth best team in the region? Maybe not but this is where they sit this week. The Generals head to Tates Creek and South Oldham this week looking to break their losing streak. 11. Frankfort (3-2) - The Panthers had a nice week picking up wins over Sayre and Western Hills before falling in a close one to Butler on a neutral site. Frankfort is still looking for a signature win early in the season. This week the Panthers host Henry Clay and Franklin County in what could be a big week for them. 12. Franklin County (1-3) - A tough week for the Flyers dropping two games to Collins and Woodford County but a big week looms for FC as they play 4 games!! First they host Nelson County before they head to Paris, Frankfort, and Trimble County. The biggest one being the Frankfort game as FC cant afford to go 0-2 in the district. 13. Bryan Station (0-5) - The Defenders early season struggles continue as they dropped games to Henry Clay, Tates Creek, and South Oldham with none really being that close. If the Defenders dont get it figured out in a hurry it could be bad news as the schedule only gets tougher with Frederick Douglass and Scott County coming up this week. 14. Madison Southern (3-3) - The Eagles went 1-2 on the week with a win over Powell County and losses to North Laurel and Lincoln County. Another team still looking for a signature win the Eagles host Jackson County and head to Woodford County this week. 15. Sayre (0-4) - The Spartans dropped two close games this week to Frankfort and North Laurel. Unlike the teams below them Sayre attempts to play decent competition so even though they are winless this is where they rank. This week they head to Holy Cross(Louisville) and Western Hills. 16. Model (2-3) - The Patriots finish the week 1-1 with a win over Lynn Camp and a loss to Lexington Catholic. This week they head to Frankfort Christian and Brown and host East Jessamine. 17. Western Hills (1-3) - 0-2 on the week for the Wolverines dropping two district games. This week they host Spencer County and Sayre. 18. Berea (4-1) - Wins over Danville Christian, Lee County, and Bluegrass United wont move you up the rankings but wins nonetheless. This week the Pirates head to Pineville and Calvary Christian. Games of the Week Tuesday Dec. 11th Woodford County @ George Rogers Clark LCA @ Dunbar Henry Clay @ Frankfort Lafayette @ Tates Creek Madison Central @ Collins Wednesday Dec. 12th Scott County @ Lexington Catholic Friday Dec. 14th Franklin County @ Frankfort Henry Clay @ Ballard
  19. As a Chiefs fan I will always have a place for Alex Smith. Him and Andy Reid helped turn the franchise around from where it was. He won a lot of games in KC and back to back division titles. I was rooting hard for him in Washington. I hope this isnt how his career ends.
  20. He has decided he doesn't want to play basketball anymore. He is a student at Scott County High School.
