  1. No offense to anyone in the 16th region, because Elliott County is one of the most exciting and talented teams I have seen in the last 5 years. Lets be honest, it is one thing to drop 20 points against Fairview or Boyd County and to do it against the competition Scott County plays every year. The 11th region is by far the best region around. I would even say some 11th region J.V. teams could give a lot of Varsity teams in the 16th region a good run. Euton is not a bad player at all but too many expectations on him to early in his career. Let us not forget BCG is the same coach that recruits middle school kids. All in all Euton will have a good season and career but he wont get close to what Darius Miller or Stephon Pettigrew did in High School the last two years. Ohh wait did I mention a high school kid that didnt go to UK to play? Hope thats ok with the big blue faithfull!!
  2. I like the way it was when I was in high school. There was no best of three series at semi state four teams made it to semi state and the winner got to the state finals. At the time only four teams made it to the state tournament which was then played at Cliff Hagan. No need for a best of three series also I agree with the district runner up not making it. Look at it this way Scott County upset Henry Clay in district championship this year. So Henry Clay, a top 10 team all year, draws a winner not very fair to a winner if you ask me. The district runners up affects the 11th region very harshly, as well as the 6th and 7th region.
  3. Lexington Catholic Central Jeffersontown Holmes Hazard Lincoln County Paducah Tilghman Mason County Lexington Catholic Holmes Hazard Mason County Lexington Catholic Mason County Mason County TB - 148 Time 2 Hours 12 Minutes
  4. Are you serious? Franklin County had one of the toughest schedules in the state this year. They played Covington Holmes, Scott County, Madison Central, Dunbar, Christian County, Covington Catholic, George Rogers Clark, Shelby County, Anderson County, Louisville Desales, and Montgomery County. That sure is some weak schedule. I am not going to sit here and say FCHS will be the best team in the 11th next year but yes they will be one of the top teams to beat.
  5. Some good young talent at Greenup on the Junior Varsity such as Brad Fyffe, Rees Justice, Bryson Miller, Jarred Moore, and Jordan Perdue.
  6. I'm not sure how or why Boyd County and Lawrence County are ranked above Greenup County. Coach Logan will just use this to motivate the boys. Greenup should have a great chance to repeat as 16th region champs.
  7. 2001 Franklin County team. Won 41st district, 11th region and Sectional. The Flyers lost to eventual state champion Boyd County. Every senior on that team and a couple juniors earned a baseball scholarship. Beat Henry Clay and Lexington Catholic on back to back nights to win the tough 11th region. Great players on that team including Brandon McKee, Daniel Clark, Adam Davis, Casey Hayden, and Daniel Scott just to name a few.
  8. Franklin County pulls the upset. Also yeah one high school in Scott County three in Franklin County, thats just the way it is. We all know how things go in Scott County with basketball. Yes, Billy Hicks is one of if not the best coach in the state but he is blessed with a lot of talent that seems to show up. As for three schools in Franklin County....didnt make much of a difference in 1995 when the Flyers ran through everyone until they ran into Breckinridge County, including a 16 point beat down of #1 Lexington Catholic in the 11th Region Championship.
  9. I will say Woodford by 10 they are playing much better and are very well coached by Mefford.
  10. According to KHSAA Bert Greene scored 3,172 points, he is the all time leading scorer in the 16th region.
  11. Andy Donovon, Deron Hicks, and Barret Meyer are the main players for FCHS, but they get good production off the bench from players like Connor and Watkins. Watch out for the McKee kid he is gonna be a good one.
  12. Franklin County is maybe the 9th best in the 11th. The are basically an unathletic middle of the road 11th region team. I wouldnt say Franklin County is the 9th best team in the region maybe more like 6 or 7 which considering the 11th region that isnt bad, next year will be a big year for them no seniors on the team this year.
  13. After watching a lot of high school basketball this year and seeing some elite players in the state play including Miller, Euton, Hopson, and all those kids at Lex. Cath and Cov. Cath. I can without a doubt that there is no kid in the state that plays harder than ferguson
  14. I have been hearing a lot on here about Rose Hill's out of region schedule. I still say Elliott County's schedule has been tougher. They played in the 5/3. While their they played a team from Tennessee who had a 6'11" and a 6'9" then met up with Covington Catholic less then 24 hours later after driving to and from Sandy Hook. They still have Mason County and Huntington High. The sad thing is Im not a Elliott County fan Im just confussed as to why so many people seem to take Rose Hill's back after a .500 season against a questionable schedule. I understand they played in the King of the Bluegrass but the 5/3 had a better field this year. As well as Bath County is playing this year you cant lose at home to them by 20.
  15. Glad to hear deron is back on the team. As a former player at FCHS I believe this is one of the better teams they have had in a while, they should be tough to beat especially next year. Definetly the best since Gary Moore retired.
  16. Greenup won't win until they figure out that just because you have a run and gun system that doesn't mean you take stupid shots and not pass to the open man.....
  17. The Flyers are looking pretty good early in the season, good luck in the tough 11th.
