I am taking LC is their first victory of the year. LC 24 SC 17

I love and respect the Belfry program, their fans and players and coaches but ladies and gentlemen there is something brewing in Louisa.

3 turnovers and a TD called back is what killed LC and hurt their momentum. NL has a good team but NL played sound and LC was constantly shooting theirselves in the foot.

It is also being carried live on WYMT here in the mountains. My prediction: LC 21 NL 14

After seeing LC practice this summer and attending both scrimmages I say they are at least 1-2 years away from being back to where they were. They will still field a very good team this year.

I want to congratulate Coach Salmons on being selected the new Head football coach at LC. I wish him only the best. I know he will have the community's support for a program that desperately needs him. I have been outspoken on this issue only because of my love for the program. Everybody needs to get behind the program and let's get started off right. My main concern has been answered. I know Coach Salmons can get the kids that want to play football back on the field. Congratulations and once again may the bulldogs be the feared team it once was. Go Dawgs!!! You have to forgive me for not posting any sooner my mother passed away yesterday and my thought right now are only of her.

I talked with Chuke the other day and he told me he was not interested in the LC job....

I know the LC job is officially posted. I have heard a few names that have applied but at this time it is all rumor... Job will be posted till Dec 28 for LC. I guess the interviews will start shortly after that.

The whole complex is just a Class Act. And their Football team is not too shabby either!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:thumb:

Coach Dixon did play in the 1990's at Fairview..

I think that's the job of the Athletic Director of the school or the High School coach to help kids get seen by the colleges.

I think we have to get a coach that will bring all the kids out to play football not just certain ones within the community. I was just saying in my post that what we need to bring back to the program is the pride and the passion to once again be the team of the future but not forgetting the winning tradition of our past. Is there a coach out there that can do this? I don't know...

Well here is how I feel about the matter... People still remember the 1990's... Who were the coaches during most of that time? Billy Goldsmith and Chuke Williams. People still remember the times when on Friday night they would roll up the streets in Louisa and shut everything down because it was Football night and the Dawgs were playing at home. People in the County had a certain pride about their football team and rightfully so. Recently I have seen the crowds at the game slowly diminish. I feel bad for Billy, Because he really wanted this program back to where it was in the 1990's. But something was missing, I don't know what it was, But there was something. Now the question is Who do we pick as our Head Coach? This is a critical hire because if we hired the wrong type of coach it will be a death blow to the program. I love this program and am willing to fight to put the right person at the helm of our football program. We need to get together as a committee and let our one voice be heard. I know for a fact that Chuke Williams has been contacted about the position at LC. I know he won't come cheap and will want full control of the program. But the questions again is Can Chuke bring the program back to where it once was? Another question Does Lawrence County have the same type of Player in 2007 as it had in the 1990's? Who is the right choice to lead the Dawgs? These are questions I am asking myself and as a Lawrence County fan you should be asking yourself also.

I have just got off the phone with somebody at the Lawrence County Board office and the job has been officially posted...So if you know of a coach that would be interested then they need to get down to Lawrence County board office and fill out an application and get their name thrown in the hat!!!!!!

I don't how long this process will take or what the process will be. Usually There is a committee formed to look at candidates and find out who would be best for the program . Is that going to happen for the new football coach?. I know that was the case when Randy Anderson was hired as Lawrence's basketball coach. I think Billy is going to finish out the year because Boone is playing basketball. After Billy leaves, Will this be a quick hire or a long drawn out one? Your thoughts.............................

I was at Letcher County Central game against Lawrence and was iimpressed with their facitlities and beautiful field and the Big Screen (Trinitron?). I don't know what the real name of these big screens are called. But does anyone know about the costs involved in getting turf and big screen like the one at Letcher County Central?

I am totally confused!!!1 Which is normal for me.. Does Chuke want to come back and coach or doesn't he? I am hearing two different stories here... Somebody PM me with Chuke's number and I will call him myself and finally put this matter to rest....:confused:

I want what's best for Lawrence County football and I know you do too... The administration needs to take it's time for this hire. We don't know who is going to apply for ths position. There has been some rumor that people are trying to get Billy to stay. Maybe that would be the best thing. what do you think?

IMHO I think we need a change. A new coach from a winning program and the ablility to bring all the kids out to play. Dixon will want to run the belly and I think Blake likes the spread offense... Do you think that will work when coaches want to run diifferent offenses?
