Luke Sammons - played at Marshall as an offensive linemen. Protected Pennington and Leftwich. Almost made the NFL Giants practice squad. Intense coach with motivation and love for football to prove it. I'm excited.

Yes

What kind of coaching experience does he have? Where is he from originally?

I want to congratulate Coach Salmons on being selected the new Head football coach at LC. I wish him only the best. I know he will have the community's support for a program that desperately needs him. I have been outspoken on this issue only because of my love for the program. Everybody needs to get behind the program and let's get started off right. My main concern has been answered. I know Coach Salmons can get the kids that want to play football back on the field. Congratulations and once again may the bulldogs be the feared team it once was. Go Dawgs!!!

You have to forgive me for not posting any sooner my mother passed away yesterday and my thought right now are only of her.

Good luck Coach Sammons

What will happen with the other coaches I wonder? Coach Dixon? Coach Preece?

Sorry to hear that dawg. My prayers go out to you, and your family.

Good luck coach.

I hope to see some new Ohio teams on the schedules so I can get to a game or two.

I would like to know his coaching experience as well. Sounds like he has had a great playing career though.

Good luck to Coach Sammons, I hope he restores Lawrence Co. football back to it's old form.

The community, fans, and school system need to be patient though. Having success as a football player doesn't always translate into having success coaching. Just because you were a great player and played at the college or professional level, doesn't mean you will make a great coach. This will be his first head coaching job and he will go through growing pains and learn and gain valuable knowledge with experience. So I hope people will be patient with him and allow him to grow and mature as a Head Coach. We live in a society of instant gratification and the coaching profession sometimes is a hard one to be in because of this. However I think he will do a great job and with time will turn into a great head coach. I hope he keeps coach Dixon and coach Preece on staff to help him turn the program around.
