Where he down markers were at, it looked like it was a very short 2nd and 1, with not much more needed for the TD.

Before that, the last time FC played a TN school was in 2004 against Greenbrier, a 7-13 loss for the Falcons. Coach Berner has tried to schedule more, things just didn't work out until this year, but I am sure you already know this Bill.

I do not think that any of these have been a flash in the pan, or at least not referred to as one on here. I know that Rees, Miles, Antonio and have had successful YEARS. I am sure most of them have, but can not be 100% as I am sure that some just did not get much of a chance until this year. But even if they were a flash in the pan, if their play supports it, they should be considered for Mr. Football, since it looks at this year and not a career.

Gotcha, I thought my numbers may have been messed up. I do agree he is the best All-Around player in the state this year.

Bill, I do agree that there is a difference, I was using that to highlight how fast the Falcons can be.

I was there and I would have to agree that FC did not dominate NCC in the championship game, it was a good close game. I do not htink that either team dominated the other. P.S. Andrews did not score on a run in the fourth to get the win, it was a pass reception.

Could be wrong on this one, but I do not think these numbers include the last two week's games against Caldwell County & Trigg where he added to them pretty good. Just wondering because the rush/pass numbers I have do nto seem to match what I had. Ther are still some out there that do not know that many of the football players are many of the same young ment that won the state title in track last year.

There are only three teams in the state (regardless of class) who have held their opponents to under 100 points for the year. Boyle County is one. The other two are Fort Campbell and Murray. This last week against Trigg, the Falcons showed that they can use the air attack against an opponent just as as well as they have used the running game this year; special teams filled in all of the gaps. This team is to versatile on both sides of the ball for Murray to take care of, but will not be a cake walk for the Falcons either. I think this one will be a little closer than most of them and Murry is the first Kentucky School to score 10 or more points against the Falcons: FC 35 MC 14

Don't think the uniforms are all that cool, but a duck is still better than a cardinal IMO. Congrats to AC.

Some of the teams coming from the west had to drive mroe than 1-2 hours to get to Louisville. IMO, the best solution would be to rotate between 3 or four venues that meet the requirements (i.e. turf, etc...).

I am not sure how it is now, but the states I have been involved with did it this way at the time. State 1 (OR) 4 Classes (3A, 2A, 1A, & B) (Classes applied to the school for all sports) Class B played 8-man football, at for some events, the classes combined the state tournament (i.e. The first year soccer was an approved event Class 2A, 1A, & B played one tournament, 3A played its own. Eight Districts, 6-8 teams per Top 2 teams qualified for the state tournament The 8 District Champions were seeded 1-8 (based on overall record), the runner-up was seeded accordingly on the opposite side of the brackets (you could, and we did have an all-district state championship). Worked out pretty good and most were happy with it. State 2 (AZ) 5 classes (3A, 2A, 1A, B & C) (Classes applied to the school for all sports) Class C did not play football that I am aware of Some sports combined classes for the state tournament 4 District, 4-7 teams per Top 2 teams qualified for the state tournament All teams were seeded based on overall record, you could see the district runner-up and champion play any round Many people complained, and know they use a point system that selects teh 16 best teams in the state regardless of district. Many people complain about anyway, especially since they do not count the first three games of the season because some schools only play 7 games due to money issues. State 3 (TN) Not sure of all of the sports, but in football teams are selected out of their district and can play at different classes for the playoffs (ie. Some district 10 teams go the 6A playoffs and some to go 5A playoffs). Just a mess and I am not sure anyone like it and they had a bunch of problems putting the right team into the playoffs this year and had to republish the brackets. State 4 (KY) You all know this one. As I said, I am not sure how these guys are doing it now, except for TN (and it is to hard to explain) and KY. I do not think any of these systems are perfect, but I think overall, OR had the best system overall. For the most part it applied to all schools and all sports. There were 4 state champions in each sport (unless numbers justified combining some of the classes) and if you did not do well in your district, you did not go the playoffs. One thing that was kind of weird in OR though, in wrestling, each school was allowed to put 2 wrestlers into the district tournament, so if you had some good #2 wrestlers, you could actually send 2 wrestlers in a single weight class to the state tournament (if they were the district champion and runner-up). I guess ultimately, it does not matter what anyone does, it will always come down to the fact that someone will never be happy.

I have said that before, it is not just football I refer to in this, but all sports. Football should not be the only one doing this, it should aply to all of the KHSAA sports across the board. Of the four states that I have involved with sports in, KY is the only one that I have ever seen that does it like this, not saying there are not more out there, but I have never seen it except for here.

That is the point I have been trying to make, at least with 6, 7 or 8 teams, those going to the playoffs earn it. And you are right, I can't think of a player wanting to skip a game just because they might get beat big.
