I believe Highlands and Conner (from Northern Ky) also play in the Lexington Catholic tournament (Republic Bank Holiday Tournament).

Word has it that Ms. Moss got a doctors excuse saying that the pressue of being racially discrimated against at Ryle was enough for her to move to another school. Thus, she didn't have to actually move into Boone's district.

Time to live up to the hype???? Have you seen her play? Lauren will be fine and will get many offers to help college teams improve their teams. She's been excelling that last couple of years and will continue to improve. She is a junior so she has another year to get stronger.

Congratulations to WV for the win. WV's big girls were the difference in this game. Does anyone know where a box score from the game can be found?

From our AAU experience with her, Nicole is great person and works really well with the girls. Good luck to her!

I don't know of any high school coaches that require that from their players. They probably recommend it though...

I'm pretty sure Long (Conner) is a 2 guard and Beasley ran the point for the last two years (until her surger).

IMO, the faster player in the 9th region (with or without the ball) is Heather Sandlin of Boone. They are both very fast, but Sandlin is blazing fast. As far as defense goes (and not to take anything away from the other girls in the region), Beasley from Conner usually guards the opponents top scorer (unless it's a 4 or 5), and typically holds them below their average. She obviously gets help from the other 4 on the floor, but I believe she should be mentioned in that group. Also remember, Beasley and Sandlin helped guide their respective teams to 9th region titles.

The Cutter Hoopsters (see other thread) will be at the Run for Roses, then the Derby Classic (7/22) and maybe the Ohio Glory tourney in Cincy at the end of the month.

The other young lady from Highlands is Kelsey Dunn.

Congratulations to Conner for their Region Softball Championship!

Conner only loses two seniors from last years team, but those two were major contributors (Long and Haynes). Their strength will be at the point guard and shooting guard positions. They have some height coming up through the ranks and will be a strong contender again in the 9th region as these young girls get experience.

I would expect Heather Sandlin will be the quaterback of the offense next year.

Congratulations Alo! Have enjoyed watching you play basketball for a long time and you deserve all the accolades and achievements you've received. Your hard work over the years have paid off and we look forward to watching you play basketball at the next level. Your leadership will be missed at Conner!
