I would tend to agree with this assessment as well. That being said I'll personally garauntee that niether BG or HHS will hang the kind of numbers they've put up the first few rounds on the 'Boro. Sr. will need to have a markedly improved offensive gameplan in the coming weeks. I think that any game that Sr. is able to put up 28 points, that they should be able to win that game.

Great game on both sides. I think the Rebels showed tonight that they can win even if teams play to stop Farris. I was impressed by the Ryle players refusal to quit, evidenced by their comeback despite an early lead by Boone. Good luck to the Rebels down the road, and good luck to all the Raider seniors in the future. This was a great game to take in as my first in many years in NKY.

Pretty close on the prediction. I don't get my dinner from LuvthemRaiders but close enough.

I'd have loved to see this series continue as it was a great game for both of the programs involved. I hope that the coaches work hard to make it happen down the road. Unfortunate set of circumstances, nothing either team can do about it really..........

I, for one, hope that it is not a 2 TD spread. My prediction was just my assessment of how I thought the game would go. I think it's a one score game late and Boone tacks on a late TD from a Ryle turnover. I agree about Ryle taking control of the game in the 4th. When the Raiders showed they could throw the ball the big mo shifted to their side. Imagine that.....

I think this is very accurate. I never got the feeling that Boone wasn't in control of the game. KEYS FOR RYLE - Somebody, anybody besides Schmitz must contribute something to the offense. Offensive balance would also help the Raider cause tremendously. Defensively they are pretty solid, but need to focus on not giving up the big play. Boone has a pair of guys who can take it to the house on any given play. KEYS FOR BOONE - Offensively the Rebels need to continue to give the ball to Mr. Reliable Corey Farris. I'd like to see the Rebels mix in some high percentage passes and some deep play-action to Doucette. Defensively the Rebels need to reevaluate their pass defense that led to the OT in the first game. Aside from that, get as many guys as you can playing the run. For Ryle to win they will need a great offensive performance from someone not wearing #24. I haven't seen it all year, no reason to expect it now.... Boone Co. 31 Ryle 17 ***You get bonus points if you can tell us the last time Ryle won AT Boone County. I don't have a dog in this fight, and I'm going strictly on secondhand information, but this is what I have: I don't think its unrealistic to think that Bellevue will give Beechwood a close game. I didn't see Beechwood's game last week, but from what I am being told (which again I am not sure is completely accurate) Beechwood looked less than impressive last Friday against a Ludlow team that they handled rather easily earlier in the year. I was told it was a very tight game until midway through the 3rd when the Beechies depth took over. Bellevue is a better team than Ludlow IMO, so I don't think that its a stretch to say that the game will be competitive throughout. Beechwood is a fine team, but to say that Bellevue doesn't have a chance is simply ridiculous IMO. The Beechies are coming off of a disappointing loss to NCC and a sub par performance against Ludlow. Meanwhile the Tigers avenged their blowout loss to Dayton. So by my simple mind, it appears that Bellevue has gotten better since their matchup with the Beechies while Beechwood has remained stagnant. I guess the real question is, have they improved enough? I still think the Beechies pull this one out, but I think the score will be much closer than many are predicting.

Delusional? Hardly. If I am not mistaken Beechwood led only 21-6 at the half against Ludlow. So either they overlooked their opponent, or they just aren't very good...........I'll let you light that match.

First off, I did want to say that you were right about the game being a close one. I for one, will admit that I didn't think Ryle could throw the ball as effectively as they were able to. I was also suprised that Farris was able to run for as much yardage as he did against the Raider D. Now, all that being said, please don't tarnish what looks like a great effort by both sides by saying that one team "needed breaks" to win. You make your own breaks. I'm quite sure that there were missed holding penalties on both sides, etc, etc. I'm pretty sure that the players and coaches from both sides wouldn't want anyone to blame officials for the loss/win, only bad teams blame others for their shortcomings. Hopefully I can catch the replay this week when I'm in town, and maybe even a future playoff matchup? Good luck to both teams moving forward.

Had heard this as well but chose to keep it under my hat. I'm sure that coach Prince is doing what is best for the team and the young man involved. This will be a tough lesson for the young man to swallow, but life isn't always about wins and losses.

This certainly brings back some memories. I still picture the field that you described when I think of Holmes. Old habits die hard I guess.

From my experience, Holmes has the talent to beat anyone on any given night. They can also just as easily self destruct and lose this game by 40. IMO CovCath needs to come out and put a couple of scores up early in this game. The longer the Dawgs stay in the game, the more dangerous they become. CovCath 34 Holmes 14

I would actually somewhat agree with you here. Being transplanted from NKY to Western KY I know a little about all of the teams involved. IMO Boone had difficulties with the athletes that Owensboro had in the backfield. They were pretty successful against Owensboro stopping the power runs, it was the quick hitters and perimeter runs that hurt them. When the 'Boro stacked the box to stop the run, they were able to match up with Boone on the perimeter 1 on 1. From what I know of Ryle, I don't think they will be able to do that. I'll be very interested to see how this one plays out......

There were some questionable calls, but Sr. certainly had their chances tonight. Hats off to Meade, they came out and executed much better than Owensboro from start to finish. I don't think for a minute that, talent wise, Meade is 14 points better than the 'Boro. But talent will only get you so far. Meade was the better team on this night and deserved the win. The Devils need to refocus and learn to come out and play with enthusiasm EVERY friday night.

Now this is quality entertainment. So you predict Bellevue to win every week, and thus you have predicted all 5 of Bellevue's wins. You predict that Ludlow will lose every week, and thus have predicted all of their losses. And you can predict that Dayton will lose to Beechwood. This must take a lot of time and research. About the personalized attention.........I'm sure that the folks from the other "River towns" feel the same way about you. Every week it is the same thing, you can't seem to say anything nice about anyone other than Bellevue. I couldn't care less about any of the schools mentioned, it has just been an ongoing observation of mine. If you wish to continue this, please take it to PM's.

:laugh:When was the last time you were actually right about a pick? Looking back I have Bellevue over Dayton, Bellvue over Lloyd, Brossart over Ludlow, and I'm sure I am leaving others out. I would love to see it, but I just don't think it will happen.

I stand by the prediction I made last week, that Boone would handle Dixie and Ryle. Halfway there. Bottom line is that I simply don't think that Ryle has the athleticism on the perimeter to stop Boone, nor do they have it on offense to open up the running game. I think this one will be close at the half with all the emotions of senior night, etc, and end much in the same fashion as the Boone/Dixie game last week. Good luck to both teams!:thumb:

Ok, so here is what I'm thinking. Boone won by 12 last year. While Schmitz isn't too shabby, last year Ryle was significantly better with Murray and Gray. Boone returns most of their talent, and is very senior heavy this year. I think Boone will take away what Ryle does best and dare them to beat them through the air. Boone has the clear edge in athleticism on the edges, and I think that will be the difference in the game. Boone shouldn't try to get in a smash mouth game with Ryle, IMO they'll be much better served to get Farris, Bogle, and Doucette on the edge. Boone wins this one walking away. Boone Co. 41 Ryle 21 Has Coach Warner recorded a win against his alma mater? Maybe I'm forgetting one, but I can't seem to remember it happening. Alzheimers me thinks........

About what I expected, Boone is clearly the cream of the crop in NKY 6A. Did anyone else never feel like Boone was going to lose this game? The Dixie/Ryle game (next week?) will be a barnburner.
