Owensboro 34 Hopkinsville 0

Final

Wow...I'd be willing to bet that the numbers in this game aren't pretty at all!:scared:

Congratulations to the Red Devils for winning the 5A District One Championship!:D

Man, this is a crazy year in KY HS football.

Owensboro was up 14-0 at the half off two Hopkinsville turnovers that set them up at the 3 and 5 yardlines. 3rd quarter Hopkinsville's defense got physical but the offense was a no show and did themselves in with turnovers. Owensboro added a TD pass at the 9 minute mark of the 4th to extend the lead to 20-0 and then put in 2 more scores in the final 2:00 minutes of the game.

Neither team is great offensively but the Owensboro defense is what makes them dangerous.

All around dismal performance from top to bottom for Hopkinsville.

I assumed Owensboro would win, but I thought the Tigers would have made it a little closer.

Unfortunately Hopkinsville is having a bad year, but I’m sure they will rebound and be back in contention in the coming years. They might also play the spoiler in the early rounds of the playoffs if they have one of their better games.

This just in.............the Owensboro D is for real.

Now, if we can just get some offensive consistency going we'll be in pretty good shape.
